Quick question for a noob, as I plan to tool up and cast pellets and slugs in the near future.... what is the advantage of brass molds over aluminum? Do the brass molds cast better product?
Irritating as I had just purchased the older .30 mold that does NOT fit the FX mags. I've still not even used the mold in fact. Wish I'd known and I'd have held off and gotten this mold, which would be of far more use to me. Dont get me wrong. I dont 'blame' anyone. It's the name of the game. I suppose I could always sell the old unused mold to purchase the other. Might end up doing that.
Rob, I understand your frustration.... This new mould is a direct result of the heavier pellet not fitting the FX mags.... plus guys wanting a lighter pellet in .30 cal.... The dimensions of the larger .30 cal moulds were clearly shown on the NOE website (and in my threads here)…. so the length was clear and anyone with an FX had the opportunity to know it was nearly 3/32" too long for an FX mag., and they would have to single load before purchasing it.... Before I designed the original .30 cal pellet, I asked around about mag. lengths, and unfortunately nobody with an FX raised the issue.... I was certainly not aware they would not fit an FX until after the tooling was done and the moulds were machined and in the NOE Store....I guess for you it isn't "progress".... but we (NOE and I) are really trying to provide shooters with what they want and need.... Sorry you came out on the short end of the stick this time around.... I guess you are in the same boat with the Predator Polymags, and the new H&N Baracudas (which according to PA are 10mm = 0.394" long) too.... For the life of me I don't understand why FX didn't make longer mags for the .30 cal than they used for the .25 cal.... It came as a total shock to me.... Bob
To add to Bobs statement, swagging is not just more expensive. It is a LOT More expensive!
