lol you just opened a can of worms . Everyone has their rituals. I get a new gun first thing is make sure the screws are snug ( the ones that matter) then I clean it. Then air it up if it’s a pcp and make sure it holds air. After it holds air I chronograph with pellet I’ll be using and then install a scope and zero

I love to hear how everyone cares for their air guns, I've picked up a lot of great tips from random one-off comments folks leave sometimes that you might never think about until you hear it. I recently ordered my first CO2 rifle so I'm extra curious what care/maintenance goes into those specifically, if its any different than pump/springers. So far all I've picked up is to do a drop of pelgun on each cartridge before loading.
With a new air gun on the way it has me thinking about the best maintenance items to do when you first receive it. I know tuning is a whole world in itself but for a basic hobbyist what is your best "bang for your buck" suggestion for setting up a new air gun?I'll start with one I plan to do immediately, clean the barrel!
