Daisy 880 question - plastic vs old metal

Howdy, folks!
I picked up a wreck of an old 880 a while back. It was missing a bunch of internals and I got it for next to nothing. It is old enough it's got the brass rifled barrel and the metal receiver. Here's my question:
If one were to pick up one of the new 880's, would the internals install in the old rifle? I'd like to get it up and shooting again and can't find anyone with the requisite parts, hence my interest in doing a "gut swap" from a newer version to the old wreck.
Thanks!

I'm a peaceful man and prefer the pursuit of peaceful sports. Those involving teams and balls of any sort tend to be deleterious to one's body and promote violence by both spectators and participants. The shooting sports, however, tend to promote self control and are peaceably participated in by those who know that their greatest challenge is their need to continually hone their own abilities.

Try contacting Daisy. I know of others who have gotten parts and assembly diagrams from them for older guns.
