I believe we have a mouse in the kitchen now. We live in "horse country" so little critters are very common... well, big critters too.So, Mike, which traps are you using? Please, link will help. The cheapest possible Victor M156 Metal Pedal... I’m not spending a lot on rats

Traps are like airguns, you get the best performance when tuned.......

I like the big Victor designed for big rats- those can be "tuned" to a hair trigger, but they WILL not forgive you if you don't pay attention.
These work great. Work good on mice too. You can "tune" the paddle for a super heir trigger.

The state in general has more texture than ANY in the continental 48 by a landslide !!
If you are getting caught by a mouse or rat trap, then you are holding it by the wrong end. It's impossible to get "bit" if holding it by the correct end.

Couple of decades since I've used one, but I lived in a neighborhood that was overrun with roof rats. I used traps, and warferin / zenifren.Hunter
