What happens if you go out to the road and shoot to either side of the house? Regards, Tom
... 80 yards from my back porch
A double stack of railroad ties. About 4' tall.

I have an 82 yd layout but lately I've been practicing for Field Target. Those ranges top out at 55 yards. 55 yards is quite challenging if the target is small enough. For FT a 1.5" target at 55 yards is about as challenging as it needs to get and that is plenty challenging for most mere mortals. If your shooting position is any higher than a target placed on the ground, you'll be shooting down at the 55 yd point. If you can elevate your shooting position (deck, porch, etc.) then your "I'm shooting down" margin of safety increases.Set up another target at 25 yds and always shoot that first (closer gives you an even better margin of "shooting down" safety. You'll know quickly if your scope is way off or not.Just a thought. 🙂I shoot down from a two story deck and what is behind my 82 yard range is acres and acres of corn field. What kinds of targets do you have in mind?
Nice 'perch' you have there Marc.
Have you thought about using bales of straw in a "U" shape 3or4 bale tall? That is what I use on my 100yd target. Craig
