Yong Heng PSI Meter Failure

I've used my Yong Heng for 1 1/2 years to fill my Synrod until this week when the meter blew out. Frankly, the fill meter has never worked like I thought it should... it always vibrated so much I had to "average" the swings but even then the gun's gauge never matched the YH meter, but I managed.
This past week the needle swings got wider until Wed I was filling the gun and pop, sssss and something hit me in the tummy lightly. Shut the pump off and checked the burst disk which was ok. Then I saw the hole in the side of the meter where the rubber plug had been... obviously the meter had failed, a normal fate for these kind of meters, especially those with undamped mechanisms like the Benjamin guns'.
To continue using the pump until a gauge arrived I soldered the input shut and reinstalled it. Then after some research I ordered one from Amazon... I did not want another OEM meter. The one I ordered had a better scale IMO, but the major reason I ordered it was it was fluid damped, and although the seller cautioned that due to shipping rules he had to drain the fluid I figured I'd simply refill it.
The meter was delivered on time today and I was very pleasantly surprised to find the meter still filled with damping fluid! I wish my OEM meter had failed in the beginning. This one is pure joy. It matches my gun's meter exactly and the meter moves smoothly with zero vibrations. It's what the YH should have come with.
In fact, after a lot of further research these past two days I realized US customers have been provided second-rate, undamped meters in not only the Yong Heng pumps (at least) but also the Marauders. Fluid damped meters are provided on the Yong Hengs in other markets and fluid damped meters are available for the air rifles... but apparently "regulations" prevent their use in the USA, or more likely, cost is the reason. In any case, had I known what I know now in the beginning I'd have changed the YH's meter as soon as I got it.
This is the meter I bought:

Nice find!
Thanks. Yes, welcomed find despite being late.
The OEM meter gets away without fluid damping, to a lousy degree, by the use of a restrictor orifice in its input. But that plug and recent revelations make me feel a tad stoopid... again, if I'd known then yada yada I'd have simply filled my YH's meter with glycerin in the beginning, and drilled out the orifice if it lagged. The meter is made the same excepting the lack of glycerin and that orifice. Nevertheless, the new meter has a far easier dial to read accurately so although fluid would have prolonged its life it would have always remained harder to read, so back to the better choice of simply replacing it with one like the one I got.
These things make me remember a mortar and pestle on a shelf in the local pharmacy in Stow MA in the 60s, "Too soon old. Too late schmart."
