who else shoots Stoegers airguns?

I re-bought Stoeger ATAC Suppressors. Had 1 before, sold it, and now rebought Series 2s. Took a while to find as they were made upto 2018.
Love it to bits! So far only shot at 10-15m but very accurate at that range and VERY easy to shoot off a bag.
I remember my previous one did very well upto 25m (max range here) and was as easy to shoot.
Trigger seems better than my previous one. This one doesnt even need replacing for me with a WW.
Hope to be able to shoot my other ATACs soon; cant now, everything closed due to lockdown..

Not yet actually but I did just have one given to me. Member of another forum I belong to was having accuracy issues, several of us tried helping and when he posted again that nothing so far seemed to work and he was about to toss the rifle in a garbage can rather than mess around with it more, I jokingly said if he was serious, send me a PM, I like a challenge.
Several weeks later he actually did just that and asked where to send it. It's currently torn down on my work bench where I found a bad piston seal and am currently waiting for an answer from Stoeger on how to get one. Once it's done and I get decent enough weather to shoot it some, I'll make a post about it.

When Stoegers came out they were a fairly hot topic on the forum. Now I don't see much about them anywhere. Seems they were pretty popular, which leaves me scratching my head.

They seemed to disappear for a bit and when they came back, they had new names, cosmetic changes and all appear to now have synthetic stocks vs wood ones.
I did have an older Stoeger X3 with a wood stock I grabbed when offered so when my great nice got a bit older and could manage it, she was getting it.
Refinished it inside and out and shot it some myself, then quietly packed it off to Tommy Woods to teach his grandkids to shoot when she lost interest.
I believe he's since passed it on himself so hopefully it's still out there and being shot by someone who enjoys it since it was a very accurate rifle.

Maybe the flavor of the month syndrome? Seems it's the new stuff that gets all the attention. Look at all the buzz the new Crosman pumper is getting now. I have a Stoeger in .22 that the previous owner says was lube tuned, aftermarket trigger and shims. I would let it go for shipping cost. I never shoot it.

When they first came on market they were the big talk until it was realized they were another B-19 knockoff, trigger and all. The trigger that was sold here on GTA would help that some. The popularity did not last.

I suspect everyone knows theyre Chinese? Or better said, made in China.
I shot 2 so far, both had excellent accuracy. Couldnt try the other one yet.
Ive heard the accuracy issues. I suspect it was the suppressor not being aligned?
When they came out here in the Netherlands (2013ish) I saw one at my local gunshop.
Knówing it was Chinese, I asked the gunsmith that worked there about these ATACs. He said 'we sold many and havent had a single one back with issues'.
They were priced around E350 back than iirc. I bought one cause it just looked awesome. Came with scope and bipod.
After the ATAC, I havent seen much of Stoeger in the Netherlands. But we dont have an importer either. Only France, Germany and the UK seem to have one.
You dont see much of Stoeger in the UK either. Not on airgunbbs anyway.
Dont see the new Suppressor for sale anywhere other than France. But I like the effort they put into it.
These S2 seem to have improvements. The trigger feels better. No need to replace it. Safety felt very stiff. And no cockingnoises anymore (which my first one had), stock bolts are loctited.
I think a big part of modern society is 'choice-stress'. When I look at the biggest gunshop we have, they sell 44?! brands of airguns...
Nope, not Stoeger
This is what is seems to shoot all day at 10-15 meters, rested. (didnt try beyond that as scope was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off, my mistake)

I bought a X20 springer at a pawn shop years ago. It was okay. Gave it to a friend. He installed a GRT trigger and gas Ram and loved it.
Recently I bought an old X3 with Duck Unlimited carved in the wood stock. Got a vintage Weaver B4 2x scope on it. For the collector in me. Haven't shot it.
A Steoger XP4 single stroke air pistol is supposed to be delivered here today. I bought it from Impact Guns in Ogden, UT. A P17 clone. Last one they had.
This Impact Guns has a bunch of the new Stoegers. I'd kind of like to have the .177 F40 under lever with wood and steel spring. It has a pop-up loading breach kind of like the HW57. But I can't get past the ugly front sight/muzzle break/cocking lever clip. $150.

Ok U.S. shooters, I just got off the phone with Stoeger here in the US trying to find a piston seal and the gentleman I talked to informed
me that while they have a few parts left, they no longer service airguns and had to let go of the Tech that spent a month training to do their
service and warranty work. Once those parts are gone, they will not be getting anymore.
Not a clue where that leaves buyers with warranties or needing parts since he didn't know either.

In the same boat as FWB Sport, Terrus, Parrus, SIG and RWS3200/3500 owners, I imagine.

Likely trying to retrofit parts from other gun makers or hoping an aftermarket seal from another maker will fit or can be made to.
Luckily for me, they had a few left of the seal I need and I should have it early next week and yes, I'll be making notes of the measurements.

I would like to give a "BIG" shout out to Desertplinker aka Steve for gifting me the Stoeger Rifle.
I also have a Stoeger 6000 that I love (after I put a GRT trigger in it) so this will be a valued addition to my stable.
I'm sure if parts are needed there will be someone who will step up and supply them or find a source for aftermarket parts.
If not well make them..............

Envelope from Stoeger finally got here today. Shoulda known with how my luck usually runs....
I very distinctly asked the Rep at Stoeger for a piston seal for a Stoeger ATAC Suppressor in .22. Envelope got here today and (why am I not surprised) he sent me a new breech seal for it instead of the piston seal. Micrometer out, measurements taken, hey wait a minute, maybe that Gamo seal in the parts box. Yep it fits, just a bit oversized. OK, wait again 'cuz if that oversized seal fits the piston...you got a Gamo over in the corner with a garbage barrel but you did just put a new ARH piston seal in it, Steve. You also used the smallest of the 3 you bought just in case. Which just happens to measure 25.14mm. Which is just a hair bigger than the scorched seal you took out of it....
Needless to say the junk Gamo is now in pieces and that just about new ARH seal is now on the piston for the Stoeger. Pressed right on and not too tight, not too snug in the Stoeger receiver. Lube, reassemble and well..we're gonna find out...lol. If it works, ARH will have one option for new seals for Stoegers...lol.
Onward......

Action is back together and because Stoeger used Blue Loctite on the trigger pack/rear stock screw lug, so did I. Moved on to the barrel
while I wait for it to dry and found the moderator cap actually unscrews if you're careful with a set of padded channel grips...lol.
For as many rifles as I've tinkered with, while some of you may have seen these, first time I've seen spring loaded 3 vent baffles
in a springer moderator.

Expect to receive my newest Stoeger ATAC addition tomorrow; a 5.5mm.
Its new, but a showmodel (without box etc) and unfortunately, 7.5J version. Ordered the FAC piston and kit with it but not expected back in stock in Germany until march
Until than, better be throwing them pellets
Shot my black Stoeger yesterday. First time. Felt different from the green one. Lighter safety, heavier trigger (youd almost say these are connected), also lots of smell.
May need to clean out barrel first. This one felt much more like my first Stoeger, a Series 1.

I started shooting Stoegers today. Picked up a x20 from a pawn shop with a Bushnell 4-12 mounted. Good shooting rifle.

I've been eyeing a NIB Stoeger X50 with a wood stock from an estate sale locally. There are a couple of hitches, though.
First, the gun is a .177 cal, which is idiotic in a super mag, and second, the X50 had a bunch of bad reviews back when they came out. Some guys with Stoeger experience said then that the lower-powered Stoeger X's are much better made than the X50, for some peculiar reason.
I've never been worried about replacement parts for these, given that the Stoegers are based on much-used Chinese platforms, and certainly not unique when it comes to piston seals etc.
