There is an entire Gate here on 3D printing David. Insanity (Matt) is the Mod. https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?board=250.0
wait a second , your grandmother is alive , how old are you ?> anyway , 3d printing is very simple.. its drawing parts thats complicated.. there are millions of files to download on the web , which takes drawing out of the equation , atleast to get started.
I really cant design parts either very basic stuff but you will need a way to slice the file. I can do that for you if getting to a computer is going to be a challenge.
As long as it can run a slicer like Cura it will work fine. When you do get around to it let me know and I will be happy to get you started on settings and such. I went about it all the hard way with no one to help me so I ruined a lot of prints because I didn't know. I want to see you have success even if its a seldom used hobby of yours. There are a few other very knowledgeable guys on here 3D printing so I am going to move this to the 3D print gate.
Printing existing files is a breeze, I got lost interest when getting close to a working design, then lost the file or Gave my $200 printer to my others son to mess with, now he just got an ender 3, 4x bigger than the one I gave him, now to get him to print airgun parts
Everything I read suggests you need a better computer if you want to design things, but I don't know exactly how true that really is.If I wanted to design say a screwdriver handle for example, could a basic inexpensive laptop handle that or is the process of designing just too much for a computer like this regardless?
I was running mine on a $300 HP laptop that is about 7 years old, no issues, was one of the better deals for video and gaming at the time. Seemed to be a non issue.
