I picked up my Hunter Extreme Pro about a week before Veteran’s day and I've pushed a LOT of pellets through it in just a few weeks. I estimate around 4000 pellets. When I ordered the gun, I also purchased a BSA 3-9x40 AO based on a review I watched on Airgun Detectives. Well, today the scope bit the dust. The reticle is spinning inside the scope. I'm going to RMA it as I'm well within the warranty but, I'm sure that I'll just break it again (or break a new one if it's replaced).Does anyone have any good suggestions for an inexpensive scope that this gun won't kill? I'm not really interested in spending more than $100. I like shooting the pellet gun because it's inexpensive. If I'm going to spend big money on a scope I'd probably get something like a Trijicon rather than some airgun brand scope but, that really defeats my purpose for owning a pellet gun (cheap plinking to satiate my shooting urges). Thanks in advance for recommendations.
Sadly, the iron sites aren't really reliable on this gun because the action shakes them loose which, causes them to lose zero. The same happened with the scope but, I fixed that with some Loctite. I'm hesitant to use Loctite on the hand-adjustable screws that adjust/hold the irons. I'll try some archery wax on the iron site screws to see if that makes a difference.
You might want to find a light weight scope. The heavier they are, the more recoil they soak up.
investigate the Diana ZR (zero recoil) mount.
Use clear nail polish. It will keep the set screws from loosening yet will allow easy enough removal when necessary. Works, cheap as dirt and available at any Walmart, Walgreens, etc.
Anyway my athlon talos held up fine on the Gamo...Lol.... Yup, i gettoed modded mine. Now they stay put shot after shot and a 50 yarder to view i shot about 2 fays ago +/-
Personally I am planning to buy a magnum Gamo soon as well, and the scope on that one will be the Hawke Vantage 2-7x32 IR AO (or the Airmax version, which is only $30 more expensive, but the glass is waaaayyy more clear). The mount will be the one piece Sportsmatch.

Today I spoke with Gamo's BSA department and they're sending me out a new scope once they're back in stock (no idea how long I'll be waiting).I shot a couple hundred pellets this morning with the irons/open sites and I just can't achieve a clear picture. To shoot straight at 50 yards I have the sites adjusted to the lowest possible setting but, to use them I have to place my cheek at the very end of the stock which, is extremely uncomfortable. Hopefully the replacement scope doesn't break as fast but, I suspect with my luck it will so I'll be taking your suggestions to heart as I investigate new scopes and mounting options. Thanks again!
Have any of you tried the Bullseye ZR Mount?
I guess you could look at the Sportsmatch Dampa Mount thing.Thing is its movement between the 2. When is that ever good in scopes? (Opinion). Then how long before it gets more slop in it? Good luck
You know i said too bad gamo did not offer choice in spring or gas ram above...Well at gamo E.U. it comes in spring, but not gas ram... Funny.POWERPLANT: Spring piston system
