No flame coming from me, I shot the gun and I would absolutely use it as an up close and personal defense weapon. As you said, with 17 rapid fire shots that could be delivered anywhere the offender could grab and some places he couldn't nobody is walking away upright.
I don't care if I hit him in the knee, his forward progress will stop.
However, my 9mm Taurus Millennium with 15 round clip would probably still be a bit more convincing.

 I was plinking some silhouette targets Nick screwed to a 2x8x8 chunk of wood, every hit sent the whole block of targets sailing off the bucket it was set on.
  I chose .22 BTW just because of flatter shooting, but that does not seem to matter with these as they can shoot.

I know this is well-known, but it’s worth mentioning how sweet it is that on this next level pistol, the action is not some new untested technology to be beta tested by early adopters. it has been worked out with great success in the K-1 rifles.  That is the sweetest part of it for me…

For any of you who have one or have one coming, I’d be interested in hearing why you chose the caliber you did. I’m really on the fence between 25 and 22 should I ever decide to get one.

I’m not asking the old “whats better 22 or 25” question here. I mean, what are your thoughts on the benefits of the calibers with respect to the limits and performance of the platform? 


If I’m being honest, I’d mostly be plinking, but with aspirations to work on my offhand shooting skills. I would love to be able to shoot things that I cast and I have a bunch of .25 molds… with the .25 Talon P I felt the 12” barrel was underpowered for most of my molds. 

I’m still unclear on what the expected upper limits of energy are for the 22 versus the 25 and need to see some shot strings with different weights of pellets and tunes.




How long until someone comes up with a carbine conversion or long barrel modification?

I already have the carbine version, it's the K1!  LOL!  I chose .25 for the GK1 because my K1 is .22.  I thought it would be a nice complement.  I also have an Ataman AP-16 in .22, which is pretty much the same size as the GK1, so having an accurate .22 and .25 pistols was appealing.

I'm probably going to get flamed for this comment, but in .25, I feel the GK1 has the power needed for home defense.  Suppressed, it's whisper quite, packs a lethal wallop and has 17 full power rounds available that can be delivered in extreme rapid succession.  It's not the primary reason, but I sure wouldn't want to be on the receiving end and I'd pity the fool who wants to try and break in to my house, because once the GK1 is empty, I still have the K1 and SK-19 as back-up! 

This pistol is no joke,....so many different applications that she excels at.

If plinking target shooting was my game I would get a .22 tune it down and use 14gr pellets so you have a ton of shots on tap.

as a hunter I want maximum power for a couple shots so .25 for me.

Thanks brother, yeah I basically gave them away but it had to be done I was not able to sell any for the price I wanted,.....once I get the pistol in hand will start a thread with a long term review

There's quite a few strings posted out there, just not on this site

the gun shoot remacably flat string for an unregulated PCP and in real life there's no POI difference I could tell off in the 15 yards range.

When I get mine I will start a long term review like I do with all guns, probably open a thread on the PCP gate.....maybe.

 I have my .22 turned down to 55 FPE now and a silencer, so more detailed testing will be posted as my time allows. I can say just having one in hand and shooting it once is the best way to justify its price.

Yup, this thing is a beast,......not even close to any other PCP pistol to date ****Game Changer***

I haven’t looked into 22 caliber airguns as much as .25, but you wouldn’t expect 55FPE out of most rifles, would you?  it seems like mid 40’s is typical?

What is the highest real world fpe that users have squeezed out of the 22 caliber? How about the 25? I’m not asking about a search for the highest possible power as an end goal I’m just curious to know so I can figure out if the projectiles I cast would be a good match for this

 There have been owners that have shot heavier slugs out of them also, with similar power results, I have not tested any of my cast ammo as of yet, but soon.
 It can be dialed down to around 5 fpe.

The heavy with the deep skirt is my preferred, I also have the lighter and the wadcutter versions, along with most sizes of their slug molds.

New England Airguns has them in shop right now,...I'm waiting for Kraz kool to get them in since my friend Billy was so kind to put the deposit down on the pre- order for me

Thanks Manny.  You zero in on the great airguns and i have benefited more than once from your zeal.  .25 ordered  - first and probably only luxury airgun for me.
