My home page has changed. It usually has my avatar at the top left. Just to the right of it are two tabs, one for recent posts, another for updated posts to which I've posted in a thread. All that is gone now!? I don't recall changing any settings? What happened, and how can I get back to normal. If it matters I use the forum via my phone...

I believe the mobile version had been "upgraded", so you can no longer get the full web version on the phone :(
I liked it much, much better when I can viewed the full web version since most of the time on GTA is from my phone. I miss seeing members' avatars and their real name.
Oh well, just need to get use to the new and "improved" mobile format.

That happened to me a few months back. One of the mods gave me good advice to click the two chevrons toward the upper right corner.

I've already tried this, but just clicked it again.........no change on cell phone format.

I just had to hunt to find that y’all replied to my post... If this change is permanent... It’s definitely not for the better. It is going to be a very severe hinderance to my ability, and desire to post...

Yeah I'm also not a fan of the updated cell version. Like you Dinh I enjoyed the full version much much better.

Interesting Dinh......my phone version is still the same as always. I do have an older model phone, though. That may have something to do with it.
To the OP....I'd suggest trying what Dan suggested. It may not be the fix, but from your description, it sounds like that may be what has changed.

As it stands currently... I cannot even get a notification regarding threads I’ve started, or posted in. As such I would have to commit to memory every gate I’ve posted in, and every thread title I’ve participated in. Then navigate through all the boxes just to get current with my threads. That just isn’t going to happen... hopefully this is just a glitch. If not. It’s been fun...

I do not use my smart phone to access the forum. I have big hands and fingers and weak eyes. LOL
BUT....I just tried and opened GTA just to see. Everything was there same as the desktop version with the exception of not being able to view photos on the home page. All of the tabs are there and I can click on Show me replies to my posts and see all of the ones I'm participating in. As far as the email notifications, that is nothing to do with the new mobile version. That is a setting in your profile. What mobile browser are you using? I'm using Google Chrome.
I have our programmer looking into why the photos are not viewable. Make SURE you are logged in and all should be the same as the desktop version.

I just checked and you have notifications turned off in your profile. I turned them back on.

Thank you. I must’ve fat fingered something, or “pocket dialed” a setting change. All is back to normal now.

This is what I have now. No avatars or signatures showing even though I looked under profile and says they should be showing. Also have no button for mobile or desktop version anymore. And on messages it's now very skinny.

And using Firefox under Linux, opening a gate in a new tab doesn't work either.

My phone is from 2017 and OS should be the latest version

Greetings folks. I have been asked by Admin to look into your complaints. I do not normally respond directly but its faster this way. Please note the following:
1. I have put back the avatars and real name but things that are not essential and can be seen via the user's profile were left out. The idea is to prevent lots of scrolling and bandwidth usage as not everyone may have wifi access or free connection- the avatars causes this quite a bit. Signatures can make someone scroll forever to get to the actual topic and because anyone can put anything in signatures it can cause the mobile view to cause x-scrolling.
2. Your phone / browser may be trying to use the old files to view the new theme which can lead to a distorted look. Please ensure to clear your browser's cache and reload to ensure you are looking at the updated files.
3. The mobile change was cosmetic, this means only the look of the site was changed not functionality, therefore if something is not working this may be an issue related to Admin or other coding problem but not the theme itself.
4. When using mobile there is a double arrow to the left / right that allows you to change how the menu is shown, please adjust as necessary when using things like inbox, etc.

I'm happy just to have the avatars and real name back. I identify members via avatars, and I like referring to people by their real name and not their handle.

So, why can't I see the smileys, now? All I see are little boxes, with 1, or 2 word descriptions.( This is on my phone, as well as my home computer.)
