So Cal Shooters Get Together

I would like to give a big Thank You to Dave (Daveshoot) and his wife Julie for opening up their house and hosting this short notice get together.. It was a great day to shoot the weather in Valley Center was perfect a nice 72 - 75 Deg day. My relative Chris came with me.. and Dave's friend Allen showed up. Well we got set up and broke out the air guns and man their were plenty to shoot for only 3 airgun owners..and we were slinging lead down range in not time. We set up some spinner targets and I brought a Gamo FT squirrel target.. Side note these guns were hitting the squirrel target so hard it bent the metal.. That Rocks! We shot for awhile then we walked Dave and Julie's property scouting out areas to do a group shoot. We located a nice shooting lane that reaches out to about 82 yards. and another area that went to 122 yards! There were to many great guns that I shot to give reports on and man I'm going to need a 2nd if not 3rd job to pay for all the new toys I want...(Thanks Guys)...Great time had by all.. I hope we can all meet and shoot soon..Here's a few pictures of the day... Enjoy.

We had fun and I hope some more of the gang can get here next time!
I think Jon (Wingman) and I were able to make some plans for a larger group that would work out well. There is a lot of potential for some decent shooting here, but I will need to build up some stuff (easily done).
With just us, we shot from my normal shooting area in front of the house. From here, I can get up to 70 yards.
However in the pasture we have a great opportunity for a group and even longer ranges, as he said. The Wingman is too modest to put up his own pic but here he is in action:
The fun thing about these shoots is all the different guns that show up, and a chance to try things in person.
Only one attendee had any complaints...
I think we aregong to shoot for another date in February!

sorry guys...been fighting a chest cold,so stayed home...I'll be around for the next shoot...I have some reactive targets I can bring plus a target frame we can put WRABF match targets on for 25 meters..also have some NRA A36 targets we shoot benchrest with at 50 yards..
This Quad target with the 1" paddle is a blast to shoot...we can try this at some extended ranges,...35,50 or 100 would be a hoot..

Rich sorry to hear you were down hard with the flu.... I know it would keep wild horses to keep you from an airgun event... You were missed. I love that reaction target I may have to invest in one to play with...

Yeah, Rich, I was hoping you would show, sorry to hear about the cold! I would like your input on the range- but I think we have some things figured out.
Looks like you will be some tough competition. I have been wanting to try that target since you first showed it.

I have two Sheridan .20 cals I'll bring plus some more airguns I've added to my collection.
I just got back one Sheridan from MAC 1,,,steroid, re-crown and trigger tune...shoots fantastic..at 6 pumps, been hitting the 1" paddle on the Quad at 38 yards shot after shot..
That Quad target gives great feed back as you see right where yor hits are..,...as far as the paper targets,I'll donate some for your 'range'...the 25 meter WRABF targets are tough..but fun.

I have been using the 25 yd bench rest targets myself.
I don't think I have shot my Sheridan (steroided rocker) in 2-3 years. Arms proliferation is a b***h.

Nope, that's my work friend Alan (he brought the Talon SS).
I am in the bottom two of Jon's pictures, and another one further up shooting the rifle (his cousin Chris is the tall thin guy next to me). I am shooting my Cometa Indian pistol in his last picture.
We usually edit my picture out so more people will come- Julie is much more presentable.

haha, that is great! I'm glad you guys had a good time. i'd love to be where it is warm in the winter. say, those cometa indian pistols sure are nice! i have checked them out more than a few times, and have only found them for sale at pomona airguns...is that the only us airgun dealer that sells them? they don't list a price on their site for them either. i'm guessing $229-$249

What's fun about theses shoots is the chance to try out so many different guns. I'm really looking forward to the next shoot and meeting new people and shooting different guns.

And it's time to talk about that next shoot...
Joshua, I love my Indian but I bought it several years ago, used on classifieds. I know Darryl here on GTA just got a new blued one, and maybe he could steer you where, and how much. Manou Bros. are the distributor and they have several outlets set up.
They are really solid- if the spring is working, there ain't much else to break on one of these!

Gonna try and make it out there for the next meeting. Todays the wifes birthday so going to sneak in a few posts. Anyone at the meeting need any scba tanks? 44 cu ft, has 11.5 years left, if anyone interested I will bring a few out (no shipping). I have them listed on the classified.
