Well somebody was going to do it! Actually I found the tab laying on the ground after about 50 shots.I have a can under way.I suspended it with a piece of wire at 50 yds. after 30 shots I added a fishing snap swivel so that I was not just shooting up the close and far side. I started with the 22 Maximus shooting CPHPs as that would be the cheapest way to do this but the trigger was getting on my last nerve. after about 35 shots I switched to my XS60C. Also in 22.Pics below are at 0 shots, 35, and 65. The next shot after the last photo took the bottom off although I was trying not to take big pieces out.
Shot # 100 or so hit the top rim where the metal is thickest and ripped the can from the snap swivel. Need a heavier swivel. Hung it back up and will hit it again tonight. A work related call shut down my shooting early for the night.Anybody else miss the days before cell phones?!!!
I was going to say 150 with a .25Reminds me of when I was 6 getting my first pellet gun. I'd walk around shooting my Dad's empty cans literally all day long.
I am trying to see how many hits a can will take as opposed to how few shots to tear it up.
The intended endeavor here is for a complete non-existence of the can, so whatever is left over, keep shooting at it.
