First day at the range with the new 20 caliber barrel on the old Hw95. At 30 yards the gun shows a definite preference for the H&N FTT 11.42 over the JSB 13.73 Exacts. Which is odd because the H&Ns have a very loose fit and the JSBs have a better reputation than the current FTT. IIRC the last time I checked the gun shot JSBs at 695 fps and the H&Ns were 760. Both about 14.75 fpe. The POI went up over an inch when I switched to the FTT, requiring a complete re-zero of the scope. After shooting a few decent FTT groups I switched back to the JSBs to see if it was me and the groups immediately went south again. I didn't try the FTT at longer ranges but I did use the JSBs which did better than the 30 yard groups would suggest. I was able to repeatedly hit a 4" spinner at 103 yards and a soda can on a stick at 83 yards. The hold over seemed about twice as much as my Hw50 with JSB Exact 8.44. The 20 caliber seemed to be more consistently accurate than the 177 Hw50 and had a lot more womp when it got there. This was the goal of the caliber change. Tomorrow I hope to check the long range accuracy of the FTT. Hopefully they stay proportionally tight as they did at 30. If they do that'd be great because they should be flatter shooting and require less hold over. I have an older 20 caliber R9 coming and if it doesn't like the JSBs better than the FTTs I'll have 5 tins of JSB 13.73 Exacts for sale.

But H&N discontinued them.JSB's do tend to "go to sleep" at some range beyond the 20-25 yards range, so in your case, it may be that they are taking a bit longer than the 30 yards to stabilize when rotating at, relatively speaking, higher rotation-to-translation ratio of speeds.Interesting findi! Keep us posted!HM
