Okay- I couldn't wait. I did some work to the mag. DEFINITELY going to have to get Darko to modify the design. Really not by much. I LOVE the mag design! So much more simple than even a factory Crosman mag. Anyhoo, I had to VERY carefully sand down one side of the mag w/my disc sander, and fill in some voids. I'm currently waiting for the JB Weld to cure (what I used as filler), and I'm also going to have to get some extremely thin CA glue to glue the back plate in place. It's still secured w/the center screw and 2 pins. However, I want to add a drop of CA as extra insurance. Reading this post over again, it really sounds much worse than it is. The mag now fits PERFECTLY. Once I'm done working the mag over, and get my Great White pumped back up (yeah, still haven't done that
), I'll do a function check of the mag. I tested the through hole w/a .30 bolt probe, and it's a "dang" near perfect fit!
I'm going to measure the new thickness, and compare it to the mags he sent. Whatever the difference is, I'm going to have Darko remove that much from the center section. That way, the back plate remains the same thickness. It's not critically thin now, but it's thin enough to make me worry about longevity.
Again- I'm not bashing Darko's work- this was a custom order mag. I fully expected something like this to happen. Once all the kinks are ironed out, we'll have a fantastic mag available to us for as long as Darko decides to be in business!!
