Got my 430l into final form. Athlon Argos 6-24 scope, Bisley adjustable pad, hamster rest, breech seal spacer, Sorbothane spring washers, all Maccari lubes and seals, Maccari UK soft spring, shooting high mid 700s withJSB 4.53 Exacts, almost dead very nice predictable “chugga”. Been shooting groups, moving to taping my wheel, UTG wheel fits right on Athlon. From the rest 1/2” groups at 50yds, much bigger handheld. My 50yd target cardboard past my lawnmower in the distance. Then I’ll start practicing on falling targets.
I don’t know how? Have done the bathroom scale thing before, didn’t work 70lb reading, but very easy, especially the last cocking click after the movement. When new, I didn’t need two hands, but it was a magnum effort and I’m a big guy. Now it is like my >12 ftlb TX or a normal mid weight bbl. Not as light as my FWB. How do you measure? I only have digital smart scales now also. Read 70 but it moves and thinks before showing a reading. You put me on 4.53, which are shooting good but still fall out of chamber, Predator GTOs are holding the chamber though, I’ll experiment with them now I’m feeling broken in.
Dave I must say that it is a sleek looking rifle-even with all the accoutrements it is still sleek. It took me a second to realize that it was more or less a 460. I love they way they look!Hector- what would a good efficiency number be?and what is higher efficiency an indicator of? Ilimakki gave us a lesson in wasted energy -it temporarily damaged his hearing-never would have expected such a modest power output- 5 j increase 22.4 total would cause so much troublei
HectorGot it-guessing you guys must "train" -some training other than just cocking shooting- weights perhaps some aerobic training-mostly middle age competitors-every little bit helps in competitionThanks
I do regret not buying one when AoA had them on special. At the time I thought that I would jold put for a 460, but I really should have bought one of those.Good lick with yours!
