The simplest Crosman mounts will work. The AV intermount for the Benjamin 392 is the best one I have tried. It is not perfect but it will work. My concern with the Crosman and AV mounts was worrying about knocking the mount and disturbing the POI. Solved that by epoxying a sight rail to the barrel. I had a spare 1400 barrel and you’re probably not going to want to do that. Thought about a putting a dab of epoxy on the inter mounts but decided that screwing and gluing the rail to the barrel was better
I'm kinda beating a dead horse here, (I've posted this before) but this is a simple sturdy way to mount a scope if you don't minda long eye relief scout mount. A Ruger 10/22 rail fits the rear sight holes just about perfect. I just wallowed out theholes slightly on the rail. I did this on my 140 and 1400. It's great because it doesn't interfere with loading a pellet and is very secure. The NC Star long eye relief scope (2.5X30) is affordable and works well.Rich

It wiggled, was a bit loose. I have a rear sight on order.

I don’t remember what the scope was. I would keep my eyes peeled for an original mount on line. They are out there. That weaver scope is vintage perfect!
I've found if you keep the scope rings as close to the adjustment turret and as close as you can get to where the two rear sight screws attach, with a little blue lock tite, mine stay solid.I realize that's just one option. I have thick fingers (not very nimble) and not having to fight to get a pellet in with a scout mount is worth it to me.
