Any idea what a dive shop typically would charge to fill a 98 cu ft carbon fiber tank?

Local shops quote $10 - $28. Other locales seen lower. Locally, forget fire stations - will not fill.

If you find a place, check to see if they have a multi fill rate. Sometimes it's cheaper if you pay for 10 fills up front. Also, make sure they can fill to 4500 psi, most dive shops can't

the fire equipment maint shop near me charges 8 dollars, unfortunately using the fill adapter from Joe B, they have not been able to successfully fill it, it keeps blowing air out the two ports on the scba side of the adapter, a video conf was held with Omega ( it is the 100 cu ft tank) and they suggested the O ring on the DIN side was bad, the shop removed it and reversed it.. still no joy ... Andrew at Joe B sent me two replacement O rings so that will be the next attempt, I also ordered a new adapter from AoA in case the Joe B one is actually defective, Will sell for a discount here if they are both functional after replacing the O ring

I am finding that some scuba shops require a scuba license to fill your tank, and when they do fill, they can only manage 3,000 psi. I do have one source that does not required the license. Otherwise, I am told that Fire Departments have the capability to fill to 4500 psi, but not all are open to public requests for fills...
