How often TX200shoot action loose-how often front Trigger guard screw strip?

I have an uneasy feeling that my barely 200 shot TX 200 has managed to strip where the front trigger guard screw screws into the action
Yes I carefully read the warning-don't tighten front trigger guard screw much-which I read as-THIS SUCKER commonly strips-and we will blame you-so I was gently with it when I adjusted
the trigger adj screws
But the action has managed to shoot itself loose THREE times in only 200 shots
The 2 front screws-holding stock in front-and the bigger -front-trigger guard screw shoots loose-very loose
The 2nd time I used a tiny amount of blue thread locker-but 50 or so shots later-all three loose again-I noticed it because I heard the action move-
I have just re-thread locked them-but I had an uneasy feeling that the front trigger screw has managed to strip its hole-threaded in fine many turns-but then it just "felt wrong" like it wasn't
tightening-if you have stripped something-you know the feeling-well I didn't push it-
I will let the thread locker sit a day-then shoot it
I full expect it to shoot loose again-and I will take a action completely off-eyeball that screw and hole-look for shavings-see if it continues to screw in-while not in stock
I have a cheap chinese undercover-$20-never shot loose-
and 460-with 1000's rds shot-never even hinted at shooting lose(but made in germany-not made in UK-- a cheap Nitro piston break barrel phantom=CHINA -never loosen-3 crosman 1377 1322
1322-made in USA-no problems-
But the Pricey UK built TX200 manages to shoot loose and probably strip hole in receiver-
I should have known better- 1965 my dad bought a used-$450- MG1100- cute little FWD really fun 5 passenger car -it has a real wood dash- and real Toggle switches-just like James Bond's
Bentley-with the toggle switch activated super charger-yeah cool little good handling boxy car-not a Zillion dollar Bentley -but close enough for a 14 yo
BUT this was during the reign of THE PRINCE OF DARKNESS-Sir Lucas-
The MG1100 never wore out its points-THEY WOULD LITERALLY BREAK IN HALF EVER 700 MILES OR SO
Yes Factory points-BROKE IN HALF-
as family we swore off Brit "stuff"-but 55 years later a waaaay to pretty Brit tricked me again!!
The limeys had the good sense to copy their german cousins trigger- but they couldn't replicate the QC
I suspect the action doesn't fit snugly in the stock-and the tension causes the screws to work loose-the cut out in the stock for the Trigger guard-is not very precise
Guessing a fix -a-thread is in my future-such a pretty gun-such a sweet trigger-but it is a BRIT device-so no surprise-
anyone know what that screw thread specs? Hope there is enough room to put a fix a thread in-if needed-maybe I am jumping the gun
Thanks
Charlie
PS Seems I remember some member here-a TX200 AIR ARMS expert-commenting that their QC had dropped lately??

I've not experienced loosening screws with my TX 200 but it's a long way from new. Note that the front stock screws go into a soft aluminum bracket. I could see stripping them out if not careful. Air Rifle Headquarters does (or did) sell a better quality front stock bracket. It is held in place with one screw. Remove those screws and both trigger guard screws. You may then remove the stock. Your rear stock screw screws into that stud sticking out of the action. That stud also holds the rear block on the gun keeping the spring inside. Make sure the stud is tight. You can also easily check to see if the threads are stripped at this point. You can hold or turn the stud with a ten millimeter wrench. If you do happen to strip the front bracket screws or the front trigger guard screw the parts are easily replaced. I believe the rear trigger guard screw goes into the trigger package. This would be far more catastrophic to strip. As far as trigger adjusting screws, I've never heard of them stripping. Since they only go into the blade it would not be a big deal to replace the blade if it were to strip.

Roadworthy-
Thanks for the great help
Yes I noticed the front screws went into aluminum-and a tiny screw-tiny allen head-sure sign to be gentle- maybe 1 ft lbs-barely more than seated
I saw that warning "don't tighten the front trigger screw much" and I took that seriously since those warning usually mean "owners strip these all the time"
Ahh-so the front TG screw actually screws into a removable stud?? Well maybe the Brits were more clever than I thought-made it easy to replace
It did not feel exactly like it was stripped- the sudden release of tension-more like what you describe-stud threading in and out
The rear TG screw-not a problem-good thing
I will pull it apart this weekend- such good info here-
Oh this NIB TX200 arrived with the cocking lever cockeyed-a member here noticed-from pictures-that the pin was not through the link-so it was 4mm off dead center when pushed upright
easy fix Brit QC- beautiful gun- great wood -great finish-superb trigger-but Brit QC just like the little MG1100 you just can't hate them because their GOOD is so good-wood dash!

Some time ago Motorhead provides suggested torques and a sequence. I'll attach it below. I also added one from the Air Arms Owners' Club regarding cocking shoe and breech lockup.

Thanks I copied the links
I see they suggest-mention-lock-tight??
Which color-I got Blue-medium-because that was what Walmart had that I could mail-order
seemed to unscrew OK
When the new -softer spring and brackets arrive-perhaps I will use lock-tight again
I see that Brit Bike in your icon-it is a NEW one right-I don't see enough oily goo stains for it to be an old Brit Twin-at the end they did have disc brakes-but it looks too good to be an old Brit bike
I do remember the Claimed 130 mph of the 1964 or so Bonneville-guy literally laying STRAIGHT ON THE SEAT- 45 hp was stock spec.- 130 mph-yeah claimed that was DEAD STOCK-

I had the same problem with the front bracket screws working itself loose or was wiggling. And I also had the front bracket stock screws stripping out the stock aluminum bracket. As suggested Airgun headquarters makes a more durable replacement part. I finally wised up and got the more robust front bracket. I clean all parts and screws with alcohol. let it dry. Then I 5 minute epoxied the front bracket onto the action. let it sit for 12 hours before shooting. I was toying with blue loctite on all the stock screws. But since the front bracket held, I left all the stock screws alone. No problem so far. The back trigger screws...I haven't had any problems with them so far (fingers crossed)

My two front screws-and my front trigger guard screw loosened at least 3 times-under 200 shots all total
Turns out the stud-female accepting- that the front trigger guard screw screwed into
It-the stud- was loosening-probably loose from factory-
I was lucky-nothing stripped-but so few shots-under 200-is probably why
I have some fancy SS brackets-member here clued me into them- same place you got them--onsale now just $20-on the way-along with a "weaker" .125" spring -maybe $25 also on sale
I will probably clean everything-alcohol-get out all oil-and goo-and use the blue locktite
Today I shot the TX200- now I probably shoot it better than the Diana 460-
With the TX200 -I just "think" squeeze-and a hole appears in splatter target exactly where I aimed-standing freehand- 27 feet-but for me-that is very good
When the new parts arrive I probably will use blue lock-tight-because I have it at hand and it was not tough to unscrew-
maybe the weaker spring will allow me to recover recycle some of my NOT LEAD pellets-stock spring-they are rarely re-useable-maybe 1/10 at best-despite soft catching in crumpled packing
paper-they are Daisy-flat nosed-so not as likely to survive as the pointy .22 NOT LEAD SSPs out of the 460-maybe 1/3 re-useable
I reuse these pellets in my crosman 1377 1322 so slightly "off" no big deal-freehand open sight pistols-my eyes-hardly matters that pellets are a little off-and I am CHEAP
