Well dang it, I didn't think these would be sturdy enough for real airgun use, since they're designed for airsoft guns... I should have just tried one! Good to know they do work for airguns though!
So who knows?....maybe a small unit will be built into the shroud/LDC...a little digital read (that could be swapped between remaining pressure and velocity?)...and have it come as a factory option.
As others have said, these little clamp-on models that run sub-$30 on Aliexpress are the bee's knees.https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32901390337.htmlI use it all the time. Takes less than 30sec to attach and I can go outside in the dark and it never misses a reading. I rarely break out the ProChrono these days unless I'm going to be using it for a long stretch, mostly for the ability to pull the strings into the PC. But most of the time I have no need to save the string so the clamp-on chronograph is more convenient.
Isn’t it possible that attaching this to the end of the barrel may affect the harmonic resonance of the barrel causing a change in POI or inconsistencies in grouping?

I tune first, then worry about groups later. But I think I know what you're getting at- please clarify?
Well, I gave it a good workout and it is impressive! No complaints from me, and it is ultra handy to be able to use in the dark as I do most of my shooting night due t the very hot Texas sun. Knife
