This one is half the price and IMO just as good as my Combro and Chrony: https://www.ebay.com/itm/16-37mm-Shooting-Speed-Tester-Muzzle-Velocity-Meter-Velocimetry-Measuring-Tool-h/392797743136?epid=0&hash=item5b7491e820:g:hdgAAOSwpp5eu8NWThe only downside is that the puff of air from bigbores may confuse the sensors.

I think there's a topic post on it and several members have had good results. Haven't had any issues with mine.
Which one of these, if any, do not require external light source be present for proper operation?
Have a "normal" chronograph....very useful. Harder to shoot groups and get velocity readings at the same time (takes forever to line the chronograph up correctly for center line travel (in horizontal and vertical) over the separate chronograph. Do like double duty...getting valid chronopgraph results AND target results. Was born either "lazy" or "practical", your pick. This could make that easier....depending on how much the added weight changes the target results....but I'm in.
Search Ebay E9800-X Its something like the one Travis has but it has a aluminum muzzle connecter and comes in colors. Same price.
Ribbs, it'll work. These use infared instead of regular lighting. Thats why they don't need an outside light source. The one I have doesn't read in fps. , it reads in mps. I just use my calculator and multiply by 3.28. Simple
i sure do like my rubberband mounted FX radar.....it works great and has excellent customer support and warranty.yes i could have bought 2 or 3 of these for the price i paid for the FX, but i only need 1
As others have said, these little clamp-on models that run sub-$30 on Aliexpress are the bee's knees.https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32901390337.htmlI use it all the time. Takes less than 30sec to attach and I can go outside in the dark and it never misses a reading. I rarely break out the ProChrono these days unless I'm going to be using it for a long stretch, mostly for the ability to pull the strings into the PC. But most of the time I have no need to save the string so the clamp-on chronograph is more convenient.
