It is fun to watch the energy dump on squirrels when shot at slower velocities and heavier pellets. I bought this gun for backyard pesting. For squirrels, I use a .30 Crown. Why? - The rifle (vs. bullpup) config keeps the scope low which is good for very flat trajectory close-in (early season shots are often 10Y or less). - The .30 cal is an absolute hammer on those very tough 2lb rodents. 28

Back tires to the rider delivered today, front tires will be here tomorrow. Unleashed the ladybugs into the garden, the majority of them hung around and started chomping on the bugs in the citrus. I will do another release in a few weeks. I will set out the Green Lacewing eggs tomorrow, they will hatch out in a week or so. That will take care of the next wave of bugs. They don't migrate as much as the lady bugs do. I am hoping by the end of the summer I will have a good population of both for the next growing season. I am not a big fan of pesticides, they are expensive and a lot of times do more harm than good. I have gotten better results using mother nature.

PCP/CO2/HPA Air Gun Gates "The Darkside" / Re: FX Impact M3 Power Adjustments« Last post by PaulFWI on Today at 09:15:59 PM »What line is the valve on? You could go to line four and see what you get. It would be better to increase the hammer strike up until the velocity peaks and then back off on the hammer 5% from that peak velocity found. If you don't like that resulting velocity, then you want to increase the regulator pressure a little more and start over. You always want to keep the tuned balanced like this or you will be wasting air, and the gun will shoot louder than it should be. Hammer is at max (16). Micro wheel at max. Valve shows 4 lines so I think it's almost all the way out. I guess I should start by increasing the 2nd reg to 115 then - even tho the manual indicates that's well above max. Incidentally, when I got the gun, about a month ago, the first reg was right at 150, but it has sagged to 140. Is that a matter of concern? (This is my first FX gun with two regs; this never happened with my Wildcat or Crowns.) 30
