Does anyone know if these are hard lead like Crosmans?
Quote from: Bayman on December 14, 2023, 10:43:11 AMDoes anyone know if these are hard lead like Crosmans? They are softer than Crosmans but I don't know what the composition is. I tested some by shooting them from a Crosman Fire into a tub of water. The Normas showed about the same expansion as some JSB strattons I also tested but less than the H&N Baracudas. The .22s are excellent but none of my .177 rifles shoot the .177 GTFT very well. Midway USA is another good source of these pellets. When they are offering free shipping. Norma USA does retail them direct but their shipping is outrageous.
I can’t comment on the antimony, as I’ve no way to do bulk chemistry analysis and provide numbers. If it helps your research, my tins do say they’re produced by RUAG ammo tech, which seems to be Norma’s parent company. RUAG ammo tech also seems to make RWS pellets. Not that any of this helps on what composition of the pellets is. Just maybe more potential to maybe track it down.
At well under a penny a piece, I would jump all over it if my pellet stash wasn't already at an absurd level.

None of my springers push pellets fast enough to expand at regular distances. What i don't understand is that have two 8.4 domes one's 6 dollars for 300 pellets and the other is 6 dollars for 500. The description is the same. What am I missing?Anytime I order from Midway I get damaged goods. That's everything from expensive gun cases to pellets. I'll never order from them again. AoA has these pellets too. They don't show in their filter but if you search Norm they come up.Besides a good inexpensive 177 dome, I'm looking for another 22 pellet that my Weihrauchs like. As of now my two and the few I've worked on only did well with the FTTs.
