Mid Feb. co2 shooting

It's all about co2's ambinat temp..as that sets the gas pressure..and the tune of the rifle sets how well it uses a pressure range (like a non regulated PCP) into a useful bell curve.
One of the things about a soutern climate is that it gets warm. Off and on kind of warm in the winter months, but by this time of year, there are enough warm days (over 70F) to make co2 a vialbe power sourse, at least for back yard playing.
Today was one of those days (New Orleans)...was about 70-72F during the time of this shoot.
Which basially brong me, in mid-Feb., to a warm day...pretty good co2 weatgher...so I did not play around with any of the PCP/HPA air gunsthat needed a little playing around (adjustments/mods/etc.)
Kind of simple dual 12gr. QB78 "FankenGun" (made out of odd parts form 4-6 different QB's) but with an HW 5mm barrel. Skinny QB78 standard stock and a scope that had been taken off awhile ago (couple of months) as I didn't think I'd need it during the cold weather.

Remounted, i scope was "off" (or the rifle was "off"...or the shooter was "off") enough matter on the first 5 shots. But it responded to adjustments just fine, and shots #5-60 were made without touching adjustments.

Whichs ends up for 50 shots to be about 10.6 foot pounds (13.6gr. at 594fps)..which is really slow for a rifle, but not so bad for one to be used inside of 30 yards.
I do see where either the rifle or the shooter kind of "wobbled" a little left to right duing groups...which would certainly gown to a larger miss at longer range.
Shot #28 just went "stupid"....likely inattention on my part, but even with JSB's cannot discount the possibility of a "stupid" pellet (although that goes back onto me for not detecting it was "off" before I loaded it, so it's still my fault).
But even with what can easily bee seen as the worst group of 5 shots, it's still "good nuff"(at least by the tradtional dime-measure):

Can see where co2 is a more popular power souce in climates like the Philippines (although they tend towards bigger bores/more power).
Can see where in colder climates where co2 is not so useful a power souce (not that there aren't warm days, just that the length of the always warm is so much shorter).

Ribbonstone, I always enjoy reading your posts. 72 degree weather in February is a great gig if you can get it. Here in Missouri it's been below freezing for a couple of days. Not complaining mind you, I know there are a lot of folks with much lower temps.
Got a 2400KT a while back and with a few minor mods from this forum, thought the gun was great. Easy to shoot and CO2 is cheap enough. When we had 45 - 50 degree days in the fall & spring it was different story. Wanted to shoot that particular gun because it was light weight. Disappointed to say the least. Well, GTA to the rescue. After reading almost every post I could find on the subject, I decided to jump in and convert it to HPA. You guys are a wealth of information & always ready to answer any question.
It drug me into the black hole, and there is no turning back. If I lived in a different location, I would still be shooting CO2.
