Title: One Shot Slip On LDC For Benjamin 392 ?
Post by: wll2506 on February 14, 2019, 05:50:12 AM
Has anyone made a slip on LDC for their Benjamin 392 ?

I know there is not the room to have one permanently installed because of the cocking arm underneath, although maybe a slotted tube would work ?

After pumping a nice quiet shot could be of benefit especially if you pump and then your shot is away from your pumping location ... not spooking your game on that first shot could be important ?

I have seen a adapter, but it is very short and could cause barrel separation IMO. I think a quick slip on and off unit would probably fit my wants. When I get the gun I'll put what is left of my gray matter to work and see what I can come up with ;- )

Just thinking out loud.

Rocker can probably make 1 for you.

Moved to the Crosman gate.

If someone can post a picture of one with the pump handle fully extended and provide me with the outer diameters of the barrel and pump tube, I can make one. I've already done a very similar build for stock barrel length 13XX, so I could probably make this a reality in a month or two.

If anyone can do it, it would be you. I'm sure it would look awesome too.

When I get my gun I will send pics and dimensions ;-  )

I was just going to suggest contacting you.  I was just shooting my 1322.  Really amazed at how quiet your LDC made it.   ;D ;D ;D
For those of you with 13xx pumpers with stock length barrels, Geo's LDC is awesome!!!

Barrel...8.95mm. Sights are 9.5mm set back.

Tube...22.45mm.  6.3mm setback gets into the pumparm.

Thanks! That gives me something good to work with. From looking at pictures, there appears to be 2 roll pins near the end of the pump tube. Do both protrude from the tube like the one in the 13XX does?

4.6mm rollpin is centered at 8.7mm back and 8.3mm down.

4.6mm rollpin is centered 21mm back and 16mm down.

Honestly, there isn't much meat to work with.

Maybe something slit at top for the front sight and slit on bottom for the pump arm.

You are right, not much meat to work with, but with those measurements, there's gonna be enough! I work a mindless job 3 days a week, so I spend my shifts working out the details on projects like these while I perform my boring tasks. Many thanks for the measurements, there's just two more that I need - how tall is the solder joint between the barrel and pump tube and the width of the front sight?

The design I have forming in my mind will allow the use of the front sight and should require no mods to the rifle itself. Since the rifle is fairly substantial, I will have to combine 3d printing with a carbon fiber tube or anodized aluminum body for best results.

AFAICT, the solder joint is negligible.  Total height barrel + pump tube is 31.3mm.

Front sight starts at 9.5mm back from the muzzle and it is 16.4mm long.  It is 11.55mm wide and kinda double-fillets upward to 2mm at the tip.  Height above the barrel is 11mm.

Maybe I can do a FreeCAD model of the business end.

Oh, have someone else double check my numbers.

Thank you, I appreciate you taking all those measurements! That should be everything I need to make it happen. I've watched video on how far the pump handle moves so I've got a very good idea of the space needed for clearing everything. Should be even easier than the 13XX LDC!

I cant wait to see what you come up with. My need for a LDC and scope has been the things that has kept me from buying a 392, and the reason I bought the Dragonfly.

 SwampHunter-
He needs some time like he said
But when it is done, it should be GREAT!

I hope it is not a "one shot", or a "slip on".
I'd want one to be attached good
and handle however many pumps I put in, 2-20
But knowing his work, it will be able, no problem !
Can't wait,  LOL
But will just like the rest of us.

I'd love to see an LDC adapter w/a dovetail for a globe sight.  It would replace the factory front sight entirely.

As an owner of a few Benji's, I would love to have a simple slip on set up that isn't to long. I have no machining skills or tools but I've been dinking around with pvc and haven't produced anything worth a hoot. I'm watching this thread hoping someone will reinvent the wheel.

Why don't shoot an e-mail to Geo Shonemaker, he is a member here, and has a 3D printing business aside, he has made the famous Geo LDC for the Daisy 880, LDC for Crosman 13xx series, and other very usefull stuff, maybe he will be able to get something up that would fulfill your needs, he has a link on his website where you can inquire custom makes.
Here is his Website:

I'm pretty sure he is able to help you with it. He is a genius in this things. And also a very good and nice guy to do business with.
