Not fit for man or beast out there
« on: January 01, 2018, 11:13:40 AM »
Well the bottom has dropped out on the temps here and nothing is moving due to the single digits. I have picked up another flu bug as well which can beat you down lol so just keeping warm watching the birds out in the snow and working on putting a nub on this bug. Plan once fully healed up from the bug is to get out when Squirrel and bunny season opens and start racking up a body and icebox count.

Hope it warms up here soon as well. Our season ends February 15 plus I've got a trip to warmer lands for a week so not much hunting time left.

It is supposed to warm up to 20* later today and aweful over night temps all week with Friday hitting near zero on the balmy south shore of Long Island NY  ::) ::) I hate having to bundle up and wear warm hat, earmuffs & gloves just to drag my 17 lb terror out to do his business. If I don't watch him while he is out he will save it for a dark corner out of spite.  ::) ;D

Hope you are feeling better soon Brother Ed,
I got hit with some sort of head cold too.  Great way to start the year.
I feel sorry for all you guys having to endure the crazy cold temps.
Should get up to around 65 here today.

H E L L O !   That is what you call a big "HELLO" Ed.  I have missed your posts and sort of figured the cold weather was keeping you indoors.  Sorry to hear the FLU bug has grabbed hold of you again.  Chicken soup and hot tea is what we use to get/stay well.
Our morning temperature was +5ºF and I have been indoors much; but I am well.  Later on in the week [when the temperature gets above 40ºF] I have plans to go back out to the woods for some squirrel hunting.
Take care of yourself, my brother.
To cheer everyone up, I am sending along a picture of our Murfreesboro New Year's Day Blizzard.  Hee hee

Dang, Tom, you guys up there are really TOUGH characters.  I am very "wimpy", and have to stay indoors anytime the temperatures get below 20ºF.
Stay warm and well everyone.  Being sick isn't any fun.
