Title: Xisico XS28M - .25 cal
Post by: rdtricks on September 20, 2018, 12:09:45 AM
UPS delivered a long brown box today.  Upon opening the outer and inner boxes I was greeted by one handsome air rifle; a fully tuned Xisico XS28M in .25 cal - from Mike Melick at Flying Dragon Air Rifles.  Heading out back to my little 15 yrd range, there was just enough sunlight for a couple of volleys to start the break-in process.  In the end the rifle has shown a preference for Hatsan Vortex Supreme at 19.91 gr with a second being the H&N Field Target Trophy at 19.91 gr (interesting).  Shooting from a standing rest with open sites, this rifle managed to stay within a 1/2 inch group using both pellets.  It turned out having the sunlight fading was a good thing for cocking this rifle the 30 plus times for three groups had my arms slightly worn.  What a beast - in a good way!

Get some Air Arms Diabolo Field, Predator GTO'S,  PolyMags, and H&N FTT Green pellets.  My Octane that I converted to .25 with one of Mike's barrels really likes those pellets.  The GTO'S and FTT Greens are the most accurate but a little spendy for plinking.  That is where the Air Arms come into play.

Never owned a .25, bet they really ‘flap-up some dust’
Got a MM tuned XS25 in .22. He turns out some good shooters. He used to list velocities on the boxes of his tuned guns...

I also  have one of Mikes fully tuned B28's in .25. It's a great  and accurate rifle. It also likes the FTT,s  Mine are listed as 20.06 grain. This rifle compares very well with my Diana 350  in 22 but has a loopier trajectory. It is a short range hammer though....
