I really like the flat profile rather than standing upright like the GX, would make it less visually intrusive in my den! Please keep us updated as to how it performs.Hey, now you get to shoot more since you have to test out the compressor anyway, ha ha.
Well, you certainly shouldn't be able to misplace it to easily, it's quite bright! LOL! I'm not so sure I'd worry too much about getting a larger filter for it. I have one of the JTS Compressors (GX3 knock-off) and it barely reaches 100 degrees F when filling a 480cc tank on my Crown. Heat contributes a lot to the condensation, and since these really seem to run cool, the filter that came with it should be sufficient. Plus, one of those big filters really slows the filling process.
Well, I had some extra funds to go on a small spending spree and I had the GX3 compressor on my list. While carousing amazon looking at the GX3, I ran into this generic no name compressor that is identical to a Spritech model, this one was 20 bucks cheaper and with a $30 instant rebate at checkout (total was 369)....I bought one and it arrived a day early, was supposed to come tomorrow. Dimensions are 12x9x5” and weighs 18.7 lbs you can see the tin of FX 500ct on the top. I’m pretty sure it’s a knock off of sorts of the GX3 as it has the same features of the auto shut off version and sounds exactly the same as kbtsingwing (Kevin’s) GX2 model, goes chugga chugga. The converter is built in though. The package came with unit, hose with small filter and extra tube sponges, extra fuses(2) a couple o’rings and some replacement parts like bleed valve, delrin washers. Warranty is 1 year from seller and people have contacted him with issues which weren’t issues as one did not close bleed valve and seller replied ASAP plus Amazon will help I’m sure. Anyway, to operate, one plugs the unit in, connect hose to foster, attach hose to gun. Then turn on fan for a couple minutes. Set PSI for auto shutoff and turn unit on. When the psi reaches the set point the unit turns off but the fan stays on, leave fan on for 2 minutes to help cool unit. I filled my PRod from 1500 psi to 2800psi in exactly 1 minute. It’s not loud and it’s not quiet! Time will tell if it lasts. There were no instructions to lube...I will contact the seller to see if anything needs maintenance besides leaks. Compressors have come a long way and are much more affordable now. I took a chance on this one (guinea pig) and will update down the road. I will attach a larger better filter. Oh, and you can attach it direct to a 12V car battery for operation as it has a built in inverter...with car running, the fan automatically goes on. Filled the PRod to exactly 2800 psi...well, at least to both gauges readings! LOL!
Lol! That's the same one I had on my cart for a week and then...BOOM! Gone. It's ok, they have others in black and carbon fiber colors. Love to hear how this one goes...Quote from: ranchibi on February 28, 2021, 05:04:52 PMWell, I had some extra funds to go on a small spending spree and I had the GX3 compressor on my list. Randall, although my GX CS3 is a good and well-performing unit (so far), I do like how the 110V inverter (converter?) on your version is already built-in rather than a separate unit like with my GX CS3.
Alright, it came in..... now you know we're going to be grilling you on everything about this compressor since you are the first test subject..... , I hope it works out to be as good or better than my ol' chug-a-lug GX CS2 compressor, just to let you know I just pumped up the Gauntlet 500/4500, took about 10 minutes to go from 3000 to 4700 psi on the 500cc tank and it never got above 120*, still working good...
