Just for completeness, have you eliminated the SD card as the suspect? In other words, can the provided sample g code files be seen on both cards? And your CURA sliced files can't be seen on either the provided card or your new card. Are you running on PC or Mac?Can you open the g code file in a text editor like wordpad? You can also open the g code file back in Cura (this may be a plug-in feature, I don't remember) and it should look like the preview mode where you can slice down through the layers.Attached is a .zip of a gcode for a simple 1" cube sliced in CURA 5.1.1 for an original ender 3. See if your printer can see it on either SD card.
Progress!See if you can see a gcode file that you sliced but didn't rename. Maybe something is lost in the filename when renamed. If that doesn't work older versions of CURA are available.
If you delete the previous versions from the SD card, re-slice your file, and save it to your SD card directly from CURA, without renaming it, does that work?
I installed CURA 5.3.1 and resliced the cube model (attached). Interestingly when CURA named the model, it added not just the CE3 prefix but CE3E3V2 which mine isn't.Try this gcode
Weird.I'm on Windows 10
I wonder if that long "CE3S1PRO_" prefix it is adding is making the filename too long? Mine used to add "CE3_" but I turned that off somehow.I found one google hit that claims "...The Creality machines don't deal well with filenames over 16 characters..."Try naming the project to just LDC and see if the resulting "CE3S1PRO_LDC.gcode" works any better...If not, try renaming the file to just LDC.gcode and see if that works. In filenames I also avoid spaces, and most non alpha-numeric characters -- good old school computer habits. The underscore does seem to be ok.
I read the same thing not likeng long names. but i have no idea how to rename files sorry.
