How far down the line?

Where should I place the little tampoon?
Right now it is directly off the pump
outlet at the beginning of the whip.
Or would it be better right before the fill
at the end of the whip?

Consider the water in vapor as it comes from the hot compressor. The more chance it has to cool, the better.
I run a tampon filter with a qd right at the gun/tank but also run a long seive filter between two whips.
You’ll for sure get a lot of different answers, my suggestion is only that, a suggestion, but it works for me.

I have one of the small filters that looks almost identical to this
except I have the disc sponge filter first, then the cigarette filter.
The sponge catches a lot of moisture (and is easy & quick to dry). The cigarette filter doesn’t seem moist at all.
I have the filter at the compressor output. Firstly, I prefer moisture doesn’t go/stay in the microbore fill whip. Secondly, if any does make it there, I make it somewhat harder for it to get to the air reservoir by keeping the gun higher than the compressor.

Are you talking about a hand pump? Remember that those little tampon filters don't hold much, and need to be dried out or replaced between use. If you're talking about a compressor, those little filters hardly do anything.

I have one of those 3" filters right at the compressor Then I use one of the cigarette type on each fill probe.

I'm going to put the tampoon at the end of the first whip off of the
pump, then into the mol-seive, then to the fill port.
Wish there was a drain/bleed prior to the tampoon.
Thinking of getting the Tuxing twin tower.
Has drain/bleed at bottom of each stage.
Would like to keep pressure in the towers when done
to shorten comp run times.
I have QD male check valves for the tower inlet, just
need tp piece together a shut off valve on tower outlet with downstream bleed
to be able to disconnect from gun while retaing pressure
in the towers.
