That's a good thought John... both are injected but, so are our trucks.I run 18" LED light bars, winches, 500 watt bluetooth speakers and the weed sprayer sometimes without issue. I'm sure I would turn all that off before running a compressor.I'm just wondering if a stater charging system would handle the wattage as does the alternator system in a vehicle. If I'm not mistaken, the CS3, for example, draws 250 watts.

If I'm not mistaken, the CS3, for example, draws 250 watts.its the in-rush at start-up and voltage spikes when shutting off the compressor that could harm the ECMnot the running of the compressor, but can the stator handle that load and maintain the correct output ?keep in mind, your charging thru rectifiers (voltage regulator) of the ATV
What if you were to run a deep cycle battery in parallel with the ATV’s battery and have a knife switch in-line to isolate it from the rest of the system while running the compressor? It should charge while under way with the knife switch closed, then just open it to when you attach and use the compressor. That setup might still be more compact than a large tank strapped to the ATV.
Yep, all food for thought. I guess now the question would be, is it all worth the payoff.I've always professed that if you need more than 1 fill on a gun for a hunt (30 or 40 shots), maybe you might want to consider taking up fishing.. or ping pong.

This might be a safer solution then being stuck out in the woods GX Pump E-L2 Portable 18V Cordless PCP Air Compressor,4500Psi/300Bar, Oil-Free, Powered by 1 x 7.8Ah Lithium-Ion Battery (Included)

I just wonder how long those batteries last when running a compressor? Seem they would draw a lot more current than your standard hand drill or weedeater!
my son has the one that takes 2 batteries, it works well for his .35 impact M3/PBit fills it several times i've seen from 180bar to 250bar purdy quick too.

Seems both battery powered models are currently sold out on GX Pumps website, so they must be popular!https://gxpumpofficial.com/?ref=yz4jqg6e
