Stoeger springer questions

Does anyone know if Stoeger springers are B18/B19 or XS-25 (& XS-12) based, or something totally different? Do the various models all share a common piston seal, and if so what diameter?
I was looking at the S3000-c for a barn plinker, whose specs (I think) fall in line with the older Stoeger X-5 model of 810fps alloy/660 lead. I'm sure these are slightly inflated, but totally fine for my needs. Just wasn't sure what the platform shares common parts with.

The older Stoeger X10 and X20 were B18 or B19 based. I have no idea about the newer ones. If you seek something with common parts try the Diana 34 or one of the clones such as the XS-25 or Ruger Air Hawk. You'd get a reasonably good trigger and a gun with parts backup.

Mike lists the XS25 in a synthetic stock. .22, I believe. He can do a tune and the two screw trigger mod and you'll have yourself a fine gun.

Roadworthy and Red feather, I appreciate the replies.
I currently own a Ruger Black hawk (XS-25) and a Diana 34 (among a few other AG's), but was wanting something less powerful. The XS-12 does appeal to me, and apparently the Stoeger X5 is an XS-12 in a different dress, from what I've found. Although I'm not certain if the Stoeger S3000-C is a direct replacement for the X5 (discontinued) or even if the XS-12's are currently available.
I've been struggling to find general information on the Stoeger S3000, and also the XS-12 regarding piston seals and springs. Forgetting the Stoeger for a moment, is the XS-12 essentially an XS-25 "short", meaning same piston/seal diameter just in a shorter action? Just curious as Diana 28mm seals and their springs are easy to come by...

yes, the 3000C is a replacement for the dearly missed X5 and both are derivatives from the Xs12. The only thing is that the stoegers are only 4.5mm while the xs12 thru flying dragon is available in .22. And what a fine little rifle it is... in any of the variations we spoke about. I've owned all of them, and by far a tuned xs12 in .22 by MM is the most fun. I even had "THE ONE"... a little experiment that MM made by mating a XS12 with a B26 trigger... it was ugly (the trigger unit sticks out of the back a little), but wow, it shot so well. As far as velocities... .177 are in the mid 5 to low 6s depending on weight. The .22 is a mid 4s with crosman premiers

Lillysdad, thank you for the information. I bet the XS12 in .22 is a hoot to shoot, at those velocities one could probably watch the pellets in flight, Lol.

I stand corrected. I said that the stoeger 3000c was only available in .177. I have in my hand a .22 stoeger 3000c. so its also available in .22. i lube tuned mine and it shoot crosman prems 14.3 at 437 fps and Hobby 11.9 gr at 489 fps. I have worked the trigger and it breaks now under 2 lbs. neat garden gun. I have not even scoped it yet as shooting open sighted keeps it very light. So if you are lucky you can also find one of these, or got to Flying dragon and get the XS12.

ER00z, lilysdad,
Man thats cool, you have a S3000c in .22. Sounds overtly fun. My son has a S3000c, nice smooth ball lockup, Automatic safety, nice fiber insert sights. 200 shots in checked on the chrony, Avg 625 fps with CPHP 7.9gr for 6.9 FPE, not bad fps spread, dont remember the spread and didnt write it down, was suppose to.. Has enough power for all the small feathers he will come across.
In order for my boy to break the barrel, he rests the butt of the stock on the ground and with 2 hands opens the barrel. My 10 year old boy can consistently knock over the animal shaped yellow Slynger metal targets < goat, pig, turkey and chicken> @ 20 yards. No shooting like a "loosegoose", he is taught to firmly plant the stock into his shoulder. I have yet to figure out how to adjust the trigger,, didntread the manual yet XD

Novagun,
Thankyou Novagun, appreciated.
This May, my boy did very good with a piston modified DP880, 10 pumps with RSD 8.3gr gets around 650fps. This August he will be using his S3000c to take small feathers < feathersoup, not feathersbait. Next year,, or two, he Might be able to use the HAlpha < new type, then hed move up to the B1022s..and so on, he will progress through them, considering AOL and weight along with breakbarrel cocking force increase. He has been motivated to become stronger, having told him as he gets stronger he will be able to use Stronger AGs, with that he has started doing pushups and situps couple times a week. NVakII

The Stoeger x5 (and i assume the x12) uses a 25mm Gamo piston seal.
