Packed up all my rifles (27) for my move to Arkansas next month. I left my favorite out until last minute. My peep sighted HW30.
my Crosman 1377RC had taken a turn as a 1322 carbine for a bit.Today it went back to a .177 carbine.

Tried to get my AEA carbine shooting today. My third airgun from this company. My first was a disaster, but I bought it just a time of crisis for my family and by the time I can focus on airguns again, I had passed the return period. I tried replacement, and then switched to this gun, which is a lower caliber. The valve pin shattered after a couple of magazines. So after six months on the shelf, I put in a new valve pin, and I believe it is ready to shoot. This is the 25 caliber, semi auto carbine. I need to find a bunch of valve pins or a more durable replacement I guess. I know some folks have had a good experience with these, so I’m hoping this will be the end of my year long “hobby” trying to fix AEA airguns.
I shot a couple mags out of the aea std 30 cal challenger over the chrony today. I was pleasantly surprised triple fold. It still shoots the hades 44.75 pellet starting from 894 up to 970 then back down to 899 fps. Some where around shot eight it was cooking at 945. Might have even been shot six or seven. But my point is this gun has potential to be a great one mag gun unregged. I will have to document a shot string and incorporate psi as well. The next thing was I took the trigger out and polished the sear this last week and it felt great. And I was also very happy the sear was having no problems catching when I cocked it. I had had some issues. It cocked easy and smooth each time. The trigger will be nice when I take it out to shoot again.
Yesterday I tore down a 22 caliber armada that I had originally built to swap between 177&22. After coming to a harsh realization that I will probably never run this in 177 I gifted some of those parts to a fellow member here. So having upgraded my 30 cal bottle armada to a cothran valve recently I decided to take the war cobra valve that was in the 30 and put it in the 22. I also had a hill 30 hammer that came out of the 30 as well. So now for the line up the 22 has now: hill 30 hammer + factory striker 35 grams, hill 262 spring, war cobra valve, hill hftp, gaska tj barrel 1:18 twist ported to .170 and polished, factory gauge block, huma reg set at 2000 ish psi with the xxl plenum. I dialed it in at +3 on the hs as my starting point. Using the hades for my projectile I was very happy to see 1027 fps upon the first shot across the chrony. I ended up dialing it back to +2.4 ish on the hs and ended up right around 1000 fps give or take a little. So today I'm going to try some jsb monster redesigned pellets and see what the velocity is and go from there.
