This belongs no more to tinkering : it's the artistic expression of an airgun "demiurge".Are there many of you like this on this forum ? Hat off ! I still have to change the plastic pivot washers for brass ones on my (modest) break barrel...
Very nice gun. All my parts pile spit out last week, was a walmart 1377 with a 14" Mellon barrel. The parts somehow found their way back together. One or more plastic parts are warped and I couldn't figure out what, but it shoots straight. I was bouncing a small clam shell with it in the yard yesterday. It's not anything pretty like what you got. It looks more like Gonzo from the Muppets.
I think the best thing about tinkering is spare parts. After several builds you inadvertently end up with a pile of stuff. Eventually this pile creates it's own air gun. Kinda like form and function follows pile. This time I took the pile and tossed it in a box and shook it up real good and Willie G. It slings 35 plus Benjamin Destroyers down range with surprising accuracy. And it's an absolute blast to shoot. All the bumps, dings, scratches and bruises lend themselves to tossing it up on the dash until he's needed again.
