the thing is about long range shooting with a spring gun is you have to do all the time ! and most of the shots I take are at known areas where I have hides to shoot from! and I generally know the distance to the target! you know I have posted pix in the past of my 460mag in .22cal where I have shot smaller then a dime size groups with it @75yds! and that was leaning out of the door of my truck shooting thur the window! not off a bench or supported in anyway other then my hand under the fore end in the window seal of the door! don't knock me for being able to make shots most of you would not try because of ur abilities, a few yrs back I was quite the shooter with a spring gun! I have posted I don't know how many pix of G-Hogs I have taken @75yds and 85yds with clean head shots where the pellet passed thru both sides of their sculls! and how many pix have I posted in the pasted of targets I have shot? some of you guys are new here, some of u aren't, but never the less allot of what I have done in my shooting with air guns is posted here in old threads, it doesn't matter if u believe anything I say or not my brother and I know the real end of what we do with air guns! If I was Ted with Teds holdovers would u believe me then? look at the shots that man makes! u guy's probably find them impossible too don't ya? don't knock a guy because he has abilities you may not have! just sayin
Hey Mark,This is what makes the GTA great .When it comes to shooting, you've already mastered all the basics and instead focus on the finer points of accuracy. Many of these ideas and instincts can only be developed through a lot of shooting experience. Some of the remarks from lessor experienced shooters (like me) comes from Not completely understanding their equipment and shooting ballistics. We need members like you to repeat the finer point until they stop bouncing off our thick heads .Thanks for Trying
very true this why I think I get allot of what I get when I post what I do

Just to stir the pot 1995 7mm Rem Magnum Ruger M77 bull barrel 1000 yards 5 shots inside an 8" bull prone position with 12x scope and stock mounted bi-pod 20 witnesses from my shooting club "The Old Breed" at West Point Military Academy shooting range. I did it because I said I could and one of the other members dared me to prove it so I did. I also started shooting when I was 11 years old and it was something that I can still do well at 70 but now it is pellet rifles not PB anymore. Mainly because I can't shoot PB in the basement or backyard. Also put 9 out of 10 pellets inside 3/4" at 50 yards with most of my pellet rifles when I don't drink to much coffee in the morning
My first military shooting match in 1974 at Ft Dix NJ I finished 9th overall and first place as a first time competitor at the match. I have always been able to tune out distractions when shooting Maybe because of my ADD and OCD so when I am focused nothing but what I am focused on exists inside my little world.
I own a R10 which is the R1's bro. I should own a R1 but I havent found any on the used market priced right. I truly think its the heavy price tag.
