Both of these compressors seem to be the same basic unit (sourced from Snow peak in China?) but with slightly different cosmetics and physical build.
Both have auto shut off and operate on either 12v or the included 120v ac (included) adapter.
The Air Venturi Nomad has a system for adding a few drops of silicone lubricant every few fill cycles where the Traveler manual just says "permanently lubricated" (like many electric motors).
Anyone with experience with these? Opinions about longevity or operation?
Seems like the Nomad wouldn't have added the silicone lubricant it they didn't think it was necessary ... so, might be better in the long run?
Both priced the same but Traveler is available thru the Crosman site with coupons and free shipping on Fridays? The Traveler is also available from Midway USA on sale.

Hoping this one gets some hits from folks experienced with one or both. They sound ideal, but am skeptical regarding durability/longevity. Probably too early to tell anyway, since neither has been on the market long.
Have purchased (& returned for full refund) two compressors that were roughly 2x the price of these units, having failed to achieve a single full fill from either before significant quality issues reared their ugly heads.
Would like to dip my toe back in the compressor pool, but... yeah, a little gun shy.

From what I can gather, both companies seem to have a pretty good reputation for taking care of problems as well.
One review of the Nomad mentions spare seals included, so must be at least somewhat user serviceable. No mention of whether or not there are instructions available for seal replacement. User manual states the warranty is voided if "... incorrectly disassembled, reassembled, or maintained." (Bold emphasis mine)
Couldn't find mention of any spare seals coming with the Traveler, hopefully an owner will chime in with that detail. If I had to guess, would say no due to this quote from the user manual- "If your compressor needs repair - DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DISASSEMBLE IT! Your compressor requires special tools and fixtures to repair it. Any disassembly or modification not performed by Authorized Service Personnel will void the warranty."
Post-compression moisture handling abilities are worded differently:
Traveler- "inline oil/water separator adapter" (add your own using the adapter???)
Nomad- "integrated moisture catch"

My Benjaman compressor arrived and it has a very extensive set of spare seals and O-rings, plus spare filters. It also has a cotton inlet filter.

Not yet. I'm having great success hand pumping my Bantam HiLite. I'm getting 1 pump/shot at my ~15 fpe tune for a total of 60 shots from 160->135 bar (ES 2.5%). 160 bar is only 2300 psi so pretty easy to repump.
I'm still watching these nice portable compressors though. I'm wondering if there will be some nice holiday sale.

Only used it twice so far to fill my Nova Freedom from storage pressure (1000 PSI) to my starting shooting pressure of around 2600 PSI. Really beats using the hand pump built into the Nova. While shooting, I will hand pump to maintain around 2500 to 2600 PSI. Only takes 3 or 4 pumps a shot to keep it in that range.

Jonnie- that Nova is an interesting rifle for sure, & I think you've hit on a great way to keep it aired up.
Marc- the Harper/slingshot system is all it was cracked up to be & then some. Fantastic results you're getting.

And, to add to the complexity of the decision making process, Hatsan came out with their own version, the Spark. Approx. $419 if I remember the email flyer correctly. Just received it two days ago.

I recently bought a Shoebox myself but having a compressor good for individual fills would really be nice too. I've been looking at these types of compressor's since Mrodair imported a similar one about a year ago, I kinda kick myself in the butt for not buying one but I am happy with my Shoebox because now instead I can just fill my tanks with it. Its slow but very consistent and the thing seems to be running very cool.

Update on my Benjamin Traveler compressor. I've been using it regularly to fill my Nova Freedom and Gauntlet.
So far it works great. I have not had any problems with it yet.
I can say that I am very happy with it so far.

Hard Air Magazine reviewed both. Keep in mind that these are NOT for pumping tanks bigger than about 1/2 L.

I didn't do the testing on the Traveler, but looking at the reviews, here are some things that I note. Disclaimer: Since I don't have hands on experience with the Traveler, if I have something wrong, please correct me.
1) The AC power supply is integral with the Nomad, not an extra piece to carry around.
2) The Nomad has a lubrication port, the Traveler does not.
3) A potential biggie: The Nomad has a coalescing filter, with a purge on the bottom. I didn't see any water/oil getting into the tampon filter on the output hose. I don't think that there is one of these on the Traveler, and it was noted that the tampon filter was showing black, and kind of dissolving from stuff getting into it.

Nomad has a lubrication port, the Traveler does not.
I'm imagining the mechanics are the same, so I'm thinking the lubrication is a good sign for the long term.

I'm using a Yong Heng compressor to fill my old 30 minute tank. I bought it about 8 months ago and have zero problems. I did buy a desiccant filter to run after the tampon filter inline. These portable ones look nice and fill the AG just as fast as the YH but I prefer to fill from a bottle. When YH dies I will go to a portable unit as they were not available when I got started.
