Info on Coating for Muzzle Break Needed

I have been making some muzzle breaks for my rifles and some other items out of 6061 Aluminum. What I need is a recommendation for a coating. I have looked on the internet and read about KG Coatings, DuraCoat and some others. Anyone used any of these? Would like to know which is best and were to buy.

They all claim that these coating are tough and wear resistant. Anyone with experience using them on aluminum?

i have made a few my self go to the auto parts store and buy you some header paint you can get it many colors if it will stay on a hot exhaust it will stay on a muzzel brake. thanks david

I use heat shrink tubing,it comes in several colors,and looks great,try to use a heat gun for more even shrinking ,and trim with razor blade .

anodizeing is a lot easyer than most know...
just need ..fresh water...battrey acid..cloth dye... a DC welder....plastic tank/bucket...
I built a anodizeing plant in no time...just to play around with..

if no dc welder handy a good car battery charger works as well... it really is super simple and can use RIT dyes to get your colors...

done a few small items years ago when I was doing work tuning markers for the paintball crowd

Other than anodizing, it is really hard to get anything to stick to aluminum.  Most aluminum coating processes are complicated involving toxic chemicals.  However, There is a product called Rust Bullet that can be applied over clean aluminum.  Once applied, you can then paint over it with just about any oil based paint.
