Hey there Guy's,,I just got my .177 barrel for my .22 QB-57D from &^%$# Airguns,,,I would like to remove the muzzlebrake on the .22 barrel since I only use the weapon scoped, and would use the iron sights on the .177 barrel when need be. Other than trying to cut it off, I don't see another way, Has anyone removed theirs?, If so, Please post a few directions on how this can be done, Thank's, and Cheer's, Andy.

Many times, you need a hair dryer a heat gun will melt it, then it takes almost 15 minutes. I wait till I can turn it by hand as a reference and then with a block of wood and a hammer you can tap it off. I took a piece of hardwood and cut a slot the same size as the barrel so I would hit a larger area with less chance of damage. I have removed my muzzle break 1/2 a dozen times and it still looks good and fits tight. Also you need to heat it up as much to reinstall. The end of the barrel has been turned down at the factory and there are some burrs? to keep the barrel from turning. I cut them off mine and recrowned so my sites won't go back on.

Thank's for the info amigo,,,after I remove the muzzlebrake, will I be able to slip on another brake?, or will there be any grinding or such,,I plan on putting on the old brake from my TAC 1 after I got one of "Larry's" creations for it instead(it'll now kill on looks alone,LOL),,,,anyways, getting back to the QB-57,,for some reason, I can't stand the looks of that muzzlebrake, anything would be better,,,,even a TAC 1 brake,,,or a "(@&^)(#^*" broom stick handle I got lying around,,,LOL,,,Cheer's, and Thank's, Andy.

There is about a 1" section that has been turned down to about 7/16, you will have to cut that off and then I think you should be able to slide your break on, You may have to shim but thats a guess. I mistakenly threaded mine to a 1/2x20 instead of 1/2x28 thread so I have had to make a break to fit.

Komoka, just outside of London. I have 2 QB57s, .22 and .177. I've modified my .22 and am saving for a gas spring, in the process I've taken these guns apart so often that I'm surprised that they still work but they are great little guns if you don't mind getting your hands dirty. As a matter of fact I only fired 1 pellet through the first one I got before I took it apart and that is the only pellet that I ever fired from a stock QB57 so I don't know what they would have been like other wise but I've put about 5,000 through the .22 and 1,500 through the .177 with no mechanical problems. I might add that I got the .22 first then picked up a .177 barrel on another forum and later as I was working on a new stock I got a receiver and internals from the same place you got your barrel and that's how I ended up with 2 QBs.
