New Beeman p17- any advice on prep or parts?

Hi Folks,
Picked up a new Beeman P17 yesterday based on the good things written about it. Also was reading that o rings can be a problem and there seems to be a variety of o ringsizes/fixes mentioned in posts. hoping that all goes well with this one but is there anything I can do before shooting to delay/avoid o ring problems?
Also what size o-rings are correct for the various seals should they be needed.
Another ? is what o ring grease do you prefer on these?
thanks for your help and time.

There have been reports (quite some time ago) of burrs on the compression tube inlet hole that would tear the o-ring. I checked at that time - there were no issues. Very easy to check, clean and re-lube. Instructions may be in the owner manual (I think I read them there).

I started using “Buzzy’s Slick Honey” on Orings. It stays put and persists on moving seals.

The O-Ring Store recommended SuperLube, so that's what I use.

I have the older Marksman 2004 version, and there were three things that needed to be corrected. Burrs on the inlet hole was one problem. I rubbed a small piece of 800 grit emery cloth on the hole, using the eraser end of a pencil to work it back and forth. Cleaned and re-greased with Super Lube synthetic grease. The replacement "O" ring came from an automotive parts store. Not sure what size it was - I just took the worn one with me and matched it.
Second was the nut threaded on the valve stem. (The mechanism pulls on that nut to dump the valve body.) It liked to come unscrewed - a little blue Loctite cured that.
Third was the two small pins at the back of the gun. (The "hammer" pivot and latch.) They kept working out sideways. I took the OCD approach and super-glued threaded inserts made from the barrels of "T" nuts. Small set screws hold the pins in place. (Holes for the inserts were already molded into the plastic, er, composite material.) Looking back on it, a drop of Loctite or even fingernail polish would have done as well. Or, even simpler, just keep an eye on them and tap them back into place as necessary.
My best advice would be to just shoot it, and be content in the knowledge that there are simple fixes should you need them.

It's also good to use some fine grit paper to sand the top rail area you touch to cock. the molding flash give a good cut when pushing down.
