Rebarreling a Recluse or 909 to .40?

Curious if anyone's tried this since it's the in between for a .357 and .45. If you did it to a recluse you could bring it up to Missouri-legal caliber without buying a new rifle (but I guess where is the fun in that?
)

Folks say you can't change out barrels without retooling openings and springs. For what it's worth, my uneducated opinion, I'd think the 909 rebarreled to .40 cal could work with spring adjustment.

I don't see why you couldn't change the barrel of the recluse to a 40 Cal . Might need to open ports up and a heavier hammer spring . The guns are simple enough shouldn't be too hard
