For my 135, I got a Sportsmatch Dampa mpunt in view of concern for damage to scopes commonly associated with big springers like this. I used it to mount a Hawke Airmax scope-I probably only have about 1000 pellets thru it but so far no issue with the scope.
Hello all,I was able to get out and do some chrony testing with 4 different pellets today, and I put my new Hatsan (135) up against my $80 wal-mart special Crosman Vantage NP .22Here are the results:14.3 CPHPVantage NP 734763757Hatsan 135 Vortex866874874H&N Barracuda Match 21.14Crosman617605(not bad!)Hatsan688684681Crosman Ultra Mag Domed (about 15 gr.)Crosman(didn't fire)Hatsan870867860JSB Magnum Diabolo 18.13 gr.Crosman663668Hatsan768770760So there it is. Right around 23-25 fpe for the Hatsan, max energy coming from the lighter pellets...and the Vantage not too far off in the rear view. It's very accurate and more than powerful enough for my needs...but I want the 30 fpe gun that was advertised. Garrett (Gut2fish) has suggested I tune it eventually, and that's my plan, probably not before this years squirrel season is over.I have a replacement Hatsan piston seal (and breech seals) but now I wonder whether I should put one of AGH's seals in instead. This is all somewhat academic being as how I don't plan to tear it down right now, but I like to get a head start on my preparation, as anyone who knows me knows. Just sharin', always welcome yer feedback,-jpEdit: just did a quick search and noticed I am in good company. Lotta folks with similar chrony results. Pulled the breech seal–it looked low. New one with a fishing line shim, we'll see if that jumps me up any.
