Shot 4 more targets this afternoon between wind gusts. This one has a group of .92 and all within the 10 ring so should qualify me for Master.
The sorted pellets did the trick. This group was with the 18.13 that were the lightest out of the tin (.92 spread). the heaviest looked like a shotgun (3.6 and 3.3 spread) and straight from the tin was in between (2.5 spread). I shot the heavies twice just to verify they were all over the place, besides I did load a whole magazine with them.
The 15.89 showed similar results but to a lesser degree. Groups were best with the lighter pellet but currently the gun is shooting a little fast for the 15.89s so not definitive results due to this and only the minor differences in groups.
I still have some sorted and plan to check their head size when I get my pelletgage to see if that comes into play.
I think in the meantime i'll set the gun back up for 15.89 and 50 yards till I get the chance to check head size or run out of 15.89s

Here is a pic of the 4 targets I shot today. Upper left is the heavy sorted pellets. Upper right is the lower weight sorted pellets. Lower left is straight from the tin and lower right is the heavy sorted pellets a second time. I wonder if the lighter pellets have a slightly smaller head? Not sure why just a little more weight would affect consistency unless it changes the dimensions of the pellet.

I have tried sorting by weight and head size. Sorting by head size removes more flyers. The weight of the pellet will not help determine head size.

Upgraded to Master. Congrats again.
Have a little more fun. You can enter that target in the 100 yard match here:
