Hey guys, just stumbled on this yesterday. A DIY project that makes a "turbo charged" little stove that uses a fraction of what is normally used. I have no idea how to link stuff from my phone, so you'll have to Google it yourself. I saw a guy that made one from an empty propane tank, another from a couple of metal soup cans and a larger metal coffee can. Plus a bunch of other options and ideas. Not necessarily a new thing, but new to me.

Yes. They are a neat project, and done right they are easy on wood. I made them from coffee cans (3# outer shell/1# inner chamber)and pearlite. Also did "Hobo Stoves". Check them out Youtube too. I still keep a Hobo Stove handy, made from 3# coffee cans because they are light and simple. Done correctly they too, are pretty stingey with wood. I always wished that I could snag a couple gallon and smaller paint cans to use for the Rocket Stoves.
Edit: That paint lid is handy for storing starters and dry wood when packing it, and saves some work, for a neat job putting the outer/inner together.
Anyway,,, Make 1 of each, and have some fun outside or on the ice! They work
