Hi all, new to this forum and this is my first post attempt. Hope I get it right. Now that I am retired, I have time to look at all the firearms and some airguns that have been accumulating and kicking around the homestead for decades. I have had this Blue Streak since about 1974. It still has the factory sticker on it. I probably fired a few dozen pellets when I got it but It's been sitting in my closet or safe for 44 years. I cleaned an amazing amount of lint off it and it's in beautiful condition. I lubed it a tiny bit and it seems functional although I don't have any pellets to actually fire it. I don't recall what it was like in 1974 but it seems like it takes a lot more force to cock the bolt than it would take in a bolt action firearm. Using a pocket spring scale it seems to take 20-25 pounds of pressure to cock the bolt. Is this normal?
Cock it & stand it upright in a corner. Add a drop of oil on the open bolt & allow it to seep down through it.
Thanks guys, I'm relieved now. I think I'll check the lube in the bolt area before I order some pellets and try it out. I'm going to wrap some plastic wrap around the sticker when I shoot it. I'm actually more interested in a target pistol airgun. Hopefully I can figure out what to get on this forum. I have quite a bit of experience with pistol competition and I'd like to get an airgun that at least vaguely feels like a 1911 or Ruger 22/45 or an old High Standard.Found the booklet that came with the Sheridan today.
