Does anyone remember the Webley Premier MKII?

I have two of them; one in .177 and the other .22. These are really "cool" pistols. They have all the trappings of the old all-steel Premiers and Seniors, but are a good four to five oz. LIGHTER. Another cool feature is that the aluminum casting in the grip area is about 3/32" WIDER than the original, giving a really nice, slightly fatter grip to wrap yer paws around.
We have about 8" on the ground here(snow), so I thought a good snowy day project was to get these old beauties out and run some lead over the screens. I shot the .i77 first and discovered a real hot-rod;
7.0 gr. Hobby Pellet; Low=454.9 fps. High=465.7 fps.
7.9 gr. Crosman Premier; Low=402.1 Fps. High=408.7 fps
Tell you about the .22 later, needs a good cleaning!.......................

I’m going through a Webley phase right now. I have a Premier but it one of the last blued ones. Bought Bruce’s book on the history of Webley pistols. Have three now but there will be more. I think they are the air pistol that most closely feels like your firing a 22 LR.
Your performance is great, similar to my Hurricane. Higher than older blued pistols, the are about 400 fps.

As far as I'm concerned, there is nothing like the old premiers and Seniors. They fit the hand really well and most of them have some power. When it gets warm enough to work in the garage, I'm going to go thru both of them and bring them up to speed and all the other Webleys too. I have a Tempest and it is my tackle box gun; but the ones I really like are the Premier MKII's. Everything feels right and they shoot hard if everything is right............................

I have the Bruce book also, so glad I bought it. There is so much information in that book! I was totally enlightened by a lot of facts that were presented. I bought my first Webley back in 73' and gave it to a friend for a Christmas gift; we all do dumb things. I have since put a small collection together, to me they are second to none.................

A Webley air pistol is on my bucket list. Would love a Premier or Senior. Many seem to find them preferable to the Tempests but I suppose some of that comes down to personal preference. I've bid on a few Tempests in the past but they always went for more than I was willing to pay. Ended up eventually getting my Sheridan EB20 in the meantime.
Look forward to hearing (and maybe seeing?) more about yours! Where did you find them if you don't mind me asking.

I got two of mine at the OGCA show in Wilmington, Ohio. The two MKII's I have I got on gunbroker, I also picked up a few at the Airgun Show in Findlay, Ohio. They are out there, but sometimes they don't come up very often. Once in a great while you may find one at a gun show. They are not as prevalent as they used to be. Good luck!...................
