IZH 46M
Doorgunner70:
Just ordered a new 46M. Hope this gun is as good as the reviews I've read. I'm pretty sure it will shoot better than these ole 62 yr old eyes will allow. I was was considering a FWB or similar, but figured I wouldn't be out so much if I find I can't shoot like I used to. Haven't shot competitively since I retired from the Navy in '93. Plan to try some 10 meter, field and silhouette if I can find a place to shoot near New Orleans, La. Any recommendations for pellets to try to start would be appreciated, as well as any for improving any aspect of this gun.

Don't have one, but the 46M is on my short list. From everything I've read, you have a very fine pistol
Call Tim at Mac1. He knows a thing or two about those pistols and offers a valve upgrade kit that he highly recommends. If you have an interest in turning the gun into a multi-pump pneumatic, this company can do it or supply the parts to you - http://innova-airguns.com/.
The pistol is scopeable if that is of interest to you. Pyramyd Air and other retailers sell a mount for scopes/dot sights.

Mine works very well with RWS Meisterkugeln and the no-spec Crosman .177 wad cutters I find at Walmart and Ace Hardware (Ace has them for $3 something for a tin of 250). I use both, the Crosmans a little more, in the GTA pistol matches.
Doorgunner70:
Thanks for the info guys. I also ordered the Air Venturi scope mount for the gun and a BSA 2-7x32 edge pistol scope.
Being new to airguns, I don't know how that will work, but am open to suggestions for a better scope .

Breakfast Chef, Wish I had known about Mac1 before I ordered my gun. He's about a $50 cheaper for the 8X pump than I paid at PA for the single pump !!! ($580) Ouch !!!
