Used 46M

(1/1)

huklbery:
I picked up a used 46M its complete including the original paper work from 2002.  It Cocks but when I drop the breach down to lock in it dumps its charge.  Seems to be in great shape other than the linkage seems to be out of sync somehow.  Anyone have any recomendations on what is out of whack?

ac12:
Maybe the prior owner set the trigger tooooooo light.
Back the trigger setting out a bit to both make it heavier and to lengthen the sear engagement.
Once it holds, then you can adjust the trigger as you want to.

BTW the ISSF regs specify min 500g trigger weight.  But a non-competitor may have lightened the trigger way under the rules, where the pistol was not designed to be.  I have such an AP, where I need to increase the trigger weight to bring it UP to regulation weight.

+1.  I have a 46, not the 46m, and the instruction manual warns not to adjust the trigger pull weight below 24 oz.  In the 46m manual, it warns against adjusting the trigger pull weight below the ISSF regulation weight of 500g, or 17.6 oz.  I would definitely check that trigger as ac12 suggests.  Good luck, and keep us posted!
