Well well well...
Hanabata808:
Not a lot of posts in here yet. Thought I'd come in here to Czech things out. I was Russian to be the first poster, but GunnerAl beat me to it! ;D
GunnerAl:
Hehehehe, Only by accident Hanabata808,
I was cruising on through at about 10 or 11pm lastnight (local time) and as I came out of one forum (UK Airgun), all of a sudden something had changed as the page loaded up, so I shook my head wondering what was different then I thought "huh, is that another forum that just appeared infront of me or am I just a bit tired?". It was, so I opened it, saw nothing so posted something...
But it was true about my friend who had a Russian air rifle... I had a BSA Meteor and he had what we just called a "Russian Air Rifle" because I think that's what was stamped on it. I'm sure it was a Baikal. They were both in .177, like any self respecting youngster should have had back then (approx 1971/72'ish) when we were both about 15 yrs old, but my Meteor was noticably more powerful than his Russian job and that's all that counted to me, although I never made a big deal about it. I just smiled. I mean, we were talking real power here, a whole 650 fps from the BSA Meteor Super, hehehehehe. Accuracy,, mine was more accurate, but he was a better shot, so my pellets always went exactly where I didn't aim them,, well at least that's the way I saw it back then. Actually, I wasn't a bad shot at all back then. Wish I could say the same about today, but then again, it's 40 years further down lifes highway, isn't it..??
George:
Sounds like you slipped on some Hanabata tryiing to get there too fast ;D ;D ;D Keoki
Hanabata808:
Hehe, great story. I remember my first airgun.. tho it was a Crosman multipump rifle. Sheesh, must have been over 30 years ago! Oh dear I'm that old haha.
Yes Keoki, I do step in a lot of things! I probably did slip on some hanabata on the way over to this forum haha. ;D
Nikoman:
Hey Larry, you need to watch out for Al - he's a real troublemaker ;D
I'm sure you can still shoot well, Al.
You seem like a modest type of guy.
