O-ring to prevent Model 25 shot tube from vibrating loose?

(1/2) > >>

airgunaut:
What size o-ring fits the Daisy Model 25 shot tube's threaded end--the silver internal one, not the black one at the muzzle?

Firing the gun eventually causes the threads to partly unscrew, and the shots lose accuracy. I bet it is simply vibration induced and would like to cushion that end of the tube with an o-ring. Better than repeatedly tightening the muzzle cap. The loosening happens even by the time 30 BBs have been fired, sometimes earlier than that.

If someone has done this, what size o-ring works?

Roadworthy:
I've not done this but you could consider Vibra - Tite VC-3 if you disassemble it from time to time or blue Loctite on the threads if you rarely take it apart.

I have tried this before,  but took it off for some reason that I can't remember.
I think maybe it caused my shot tube to get stuck or something.

I could tell you which size to use, because I just grabbed one from my assortment that fits.

airgunaut:
What size o-ring is that, David? I hate to really crank down when tightening the thing. I did that and one time it held the position, but another time it loosened anyway.

Back to checking/retightening it every 10 shots!

These threads are exposed and the shot tube assembly is removed and reinstalled every time that BBs are loaded. Are we talking about the same model of gun?
