And I'm looking at the piston/s - which one is it? the one where the top is facing the butt or the one facing the front sight? I don't see any slot in it... What mods do I do to this? (It's got the aluminum cylinder.)
Yup. That's the one. What's this other thing then?
When I taped my barrel it just felt to me like the tape formed itself snug and left it with kind of shock absorbing quality.Seems like once it's done, it's done. Maybe replace it if you ever need to get back into the gun.MR. STONEYKILL !!! YOU ARE THE KING OF DAISIES !!! I got a few minutes this morning and installed the trigger parts you sent me. WOW !! What a difference. I bought a couple vintage pistols from the Yellow last week and the gentleman sent me a whole box of misc. stuff. Springs, o-rings, seals, screws, trigger shoes, scope mounts.... just a whole box of airgun bits. Anyhow... the trigger spring took flight on me. I did the work on our back deck and I heard it hit fallen leaves about 20 yds out in the yard. In that box of parts was a spring. Same gauge but little more than half the length. What the heck, give is a shot. Sooo nice. Medium to light pull, minimal creep and a glass breaking snap. I also taped the stock and took all the side to side wiggle out. This gun goes in the "done" pile. Still not jumping on the Daisy band wagon but, I like this one..alot!
Ok.. I'll try the tape. You've convinced me. I wasn't actually thinking about heat from the barrel at this point, though. I was thinking about my roll of tape that got... squishy.... in the heat of my shop.... So on the piston. Is there anything I should do to this one, since it's a flat top?
I picked up some old 880 parts...from a rifle with a metal pump arm and metal carriage...since I only had the pump arm assembly I can`t provide details on the actual model...The tube seems to be steel and the abutment washer/ seal seem to be a different type than you show...the insides were rotted out but I tried to salvage as much as possible...about all that was worth keeping was the Flat Top Piston w/ felt wiper...the short Spring...Trigger assembly...and Abutment washer...I could`t match parts with anything available on line...PHIL
Tom ...the rubber seal that I removed had a METAL RING inside...how will the BAKER KIT work properly with the abutment washer I have?...Would I change the abutment washer to work with the new kit from BAKER?.....PHIL
I had to do some filing on the pivot area on the hammer part you sent me. It must have been a new stock part. It had foundry burrs and casting marks on it and was too wide to go in where the pin goes thru it. Worked out real good. I was able to finish it up so there was zero play.In that box of bits I mentioned earlier were 2 aluminum trigger shoes. I'm going to widen the slot in one of them and use it on this gun.

For a reason I have not yet figured out, some hammers are too wide for the castings and those castings have narrower hammers. I meant to warn you that you may have to do what you did, and forgot of course. But I also new you would figure it out. I have done what you did quite a few times. And like you said, it can then be set up perfectly, for zero play. Which is a bonus. Trigger shoes in the box. Fantastic.
So I'm reading through the previously posted link to the trigger mod thread, and questions come up. Thought I'd post some pix of my trigger assy to illustrate. Here's the Trigger Assembly (without spring and pins)Just wondering if reducing the depth of this part of the trigger will reduce the travel? Is this the right part to modify? Notice the two steps..Or do I need to modify the hammer instead? Also a pic of my pins, old and "new".
